I wrote this in CHC in response to the question, "Pickles, like 'em or not?"
I do not like pickles, Dianna I am...
I do not like them in sammiches
I do not like them with hot dogs
I do not like them with hamburgeriches.
I don't like them on a stick
Nor will I eat them with legs from frogs
I will not even give them a lick.
I won't even eat them fried, in which I have tried
But if I said I don't eat them at all, then I have lied.
I will eat a kosher dill,
once in a while when cravings take over my will.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All three of my boys like pickles.
My daughter... she is like her mommy. =)
Treasure
Tis a blissful day
A joy to play
To take delight
In Christ's might
Each day I learn
to Him more I turn.
Jesus is my treasure
my source of pleasure.
In keeping with todays theme of pictures... (oh how fun it has been to see other pictures in the world of blog!)
Mud
Squishy, mushy.. oozies
mud between the toe-zies
bricks, prints and pies
just don't get it in your eyes!
It's super-fun-a-licious!
It's mud-a-licious!!
(I do enjoy coming up with spur of the moment poems!)
These pictures were taken out at my mothers house. They are of my kids playing in some of the mud puddles in her driveway after a nice big rain! She lives in a forest. I was going to have some pictures of her wild Columbine flowers, but my camera battery died! ***pout***
This is "Squirt" really getting into what he is doing. He is making the water swirl around. I just love this picture because it shows my sons' inquisitiveness. He's discovered something neat! I also was cleaning dirt out of his ears three days later! ROFL He is also sporting the latest in tie dye shirts... mud dye!
(Left to right): Peanut, JD, Squirt, and Princess
They are splashing, jumping... my dd's pants were pink!!
Praise the Lord kids are washable!
My 22 month old, "Squirt" would just keep playing in the mud puddle. The other three would go run in the grass, come back around and jump as hard as they could... splash everywhere and Squirt would just laugh and laugh after getting splashed! The little guy was covered!! Later on they would find objects like balls, stick, grass anything they could find to see what floated and what didn't. They took sticks and made a 'canal' to one mud puddle to the other and made one big one!
Some would say that this sort of play isn't educational.. it sure is!! They learned how to make bricks, canals, boats, submarines. They learned gravity.. the higher and harder you jump.. the bigger the splash! Then, when they were done they used their laundry skills!!
This is "Squirt". As I said yesterday in my blog, I love to have my younger ones in all the learning activities. He was doodling on his bigger brothers handwriting tablet. It is one of those dry erase thingers.. well he fell asleep. So precious!!
It is our weekly tea time tomorrow and I wrote these clerihew's about each of my children. During our tea time, we enjoy reading and writing poetry.
J.D.
My first son
He is a lot of fun.
He knows he is really cool
and thinks cleaning his room is minuscule!
My Princess
My little princess
fancy, she likes to dress.
She screams at all bugs
towards me she comes for hugs.
Peanut
He is my peanut
His stuff he can strut
Around the house with his airplanes
He sure is one that entertains!
Squirt
With my little squirt
I'm always on alert
On things he likes to climb
which puts me on overtime!
J.D. is my 8yo son. Princess is my 7yo daughter. Peanut is my 4yo son and Squirt is my 22 month old son.
The Magazine
The Old Schoolhouse
words of encouragement they douse
upon their eager readers
who are teaching future leaders
A clerihew is a poem with four lines. The first and second lines rhyme with each other and the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other.
The first line names a person, the second line ends with something that rhymes with the name of the person. They should also be funny!
Happy Summer!
