I also want to thank MaggieHogan for pointing this thought provoking 'tag' to me.

Another Five Things...
Posted in Tag I am it
The "info junkie" Maggie Hogan tagged me...
What 5 things are you reading right now that are NOT homeschooling related?
"The Wit and Wisdom of Abraham Lincoln"
Edited by Anthony Gross
The Best Stories By and About America's Most Beloved President

" Mr. Lincoln was an unusually tall man, six feet four. Meeting a soldier considerably taller than himself, he looked him over with a wondering admiration. "Say, friend," he said, "does your head know when your feet are cold?'"
(This book has been sold out!)
Othello
Shakespeare

The Bible Cure for High Cholesterol
by Don Colbert, M.D.

Yup... I am working on lowering my cholesterol.. this has been very helpful!!
Created to be His Help Meet
by Debi Pearl
It is an interesting book. I may or may not agree with everything in the book.. but I have gotten some neat stuff from it. Most of it has been stuff that the Lord has been placing on my heart before I even picked up the book... so some of it has been a confirmation for me. Over in The Christian Homeschool Corner a few of us ladies are reading this book together and it has turned out to be a really good discussion. I have read some good and some bad on this book. Some of the chapters don't even reflect what the chapter is even about.. but if you read in between the lines you'll get what you need.
With any other book.. bite what you need to chew and spit out the rest. =)
I have a copy of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis in my bathroom.... hey, a woman has to get reading time in whenever she can with four blessings around the home! (I have a bible in there too! Oh and an older copy of TOS!)

Fly on the wall
Posted in Tag I am it
I was tagged by COcandace to share about my day today... my real day, not what I wanted it to be like day.. a candid look at my day.
I woke up at 6:30 this morning and woke my husband up. I am his alarm clock.
I usually get up with him, but I rolled over and found myself waking back up at 7:30. I get out of bed get dressed and other morning things.
Make coffee (Gold Coast blend from starbucks)
Sit down at the dining room table and read my bible. (Isaiah 10-21)
By the time I was in chapter 15 my coffee was ready.
Sat back down and sipped a bit of my 'bold' coffee.
After reading, I put my head down on the table and prayed.. for the day, for encouraging words to come out of my mouth, for the Lord to lead me.. for others... then I fell asleep again for about 15 minutes. Woke up... finished my coffee then went to go get another cup.
Got on computer and checked email and a favorite forum. (link is on the right--->)
Played an online jigsaw puzzle.
One by one the kids started waking up.
Changed a diaper.
Made breakfast... We all had cereal. My 2 yo ended up spilling a box all over the floor and my daughter helped clean that up while I got the milk, bowls and spoons out.
Cleaned up table.
The older two both did a page of math and some mad libs while the younger two played with cars nearby.
While the kids did some 'school' work. I did some further study on what I read in Isaiah.
After that I did cleaned up the kitchen a bit while the kids played.
We were going to have park day with some other wonderful homeschoolers.. but had to cancel because of the rain.
My kids played.. 'zoo' most of the day. My 9yo. "J.D." sounds just like a zebra!
(We rented the video game "Madagascar" over the weekend.. I think my kids were trying to escape.. LOL)
Lunch - Graham crackers, apples, PB&J and juice.
Then I wanted to play the Madagascar video game.. (I like to play video games when I can, which isn't often! It was a rainy, cloudy day... why not?)
I played the game while all the kids watched. Its a fun game. Normally we don't play video games during the week. Those are for the weekends for a limited amount of time.. so again... it was raining! My kids walked me through the game... it was quite a hoot!
Then I let each child play for 30 minutes each while the 2 yo napped.. and I took a small snooze on the couch.
Did I mention that it was rainy and cloudy outside.. the air pressure at times effects my bones and sometimes being under a warm blanket with a book helps. The warmth helps my bones and a book helps me to not think about the pain.
Then I got up, checked email.. my hubby emails me everyday. He did email me.
Around 5:00 pm I start getting myself and the kids ready to go. My mother-in-law wanted to take us all out to celebrate my 2yo's birthday. His birthday is really on the 5th (Friday) but she wasn't able to join us on Friday.
5:30 pm my husband gets home and he and I go get ready. =)
Then we all left around 6:00 pm. We drove for about 1/2 hour to Red Robin.
I ordered iced tea and a bacon, lettuce, turkey and avacado sandwich with some steak fries... mmmmmmm.
Kids had: J.D. - pizza, Princess - Spagetti and Peanut and Squirt shared a cheeseburger.
My husband got a BBQ burger.
MIL got a mushroom burger.
My husband and my MIL do most the talking when we are out.. so I just be quiet and enjoy my kids.
Then the waiters and waitresses came and sang "Happy Birthday" to Squirt. Gave him some ballons and a little sunday.
Finished eating, left, came home, let Squirt open another gift from 'grandma' because my husband is working both jobs tomorrow. (We will see him tomorrow at his company picnic.)
Put kids to bed...
and now I am almost finished with this "Fly on the wall" blog.
Not much of a day, but it was nice! I got to relax and enjoyed my kids. It wasn't hot out so I was able to have the windows open. No A/C today!! We enjoyed listening to the rain hit the sky light... it is still raining now.
Until tomorrow..
I guess I need to 'tag' 5 others to do this.... hhhmmmmm who should it be??

You know your loved when your friends tag you! =)
Q.: What is your favoite night-time snack?
A: I try really hard not to snack after 8, but my hubby is also a skinny guy and he likes to make nachos or fix Ice cream... so I usually break down and have some bites or I'll make some air popped popcorn.
Q: If you could choose 3 comfort items to take with you for a year on a desert island, what would they be? (Your husband, children, and your Bible don't count.)
A: Journal, One pack of pencils and a deck of cards.
Q: Why did you choose each item?
A: I have to journal my adventures so I can blog about them later! I need a pack of pencils to write with. (I can use my strong fingernails or rocks to sharpen my pencils with). I can play solitare or 52 card pickup to make the time pass.
Q: What is your first memory?
A: I remember being totally scared on the pirate ride at Disneyland when I was 3.
