My daughter and I decided we would try our hands at an in-door herb garden.  In order to do that, we have to have space to put the plants.  We didn't.  But, with a little brainstorming and looking through herb books, I found this GREAT idea.  We would build window shelves for our plants.  I looked around outside for scrap lumber and found enough to make two shelves.  I needed lumber for 4 more shelves.  So I had to buy some lumber.  It didn't cost that much, thank God.  Next, I painted my shelves this beautiful spring green color and am in the process of putting them up.  We didn't really know what herbs to get, so we bought one of each kind we could find.  This way, we'll see what grows well indoors and what doesn't.  Hope we can be successful with all of them.  Here are a few pics of our shelves and plants.
