Jul. 17, 2006 - The magnitude of the small things

Fellow HSBer Texas Raisin's has had to make an incredibly difficult decision for her family.  She posted her thoughts today at putting her children back in public school and the things she will miss about having them home with her.

As I read the post, it hit me how much I take our homeschooling life for granted.   The busyness, the noise, the questions, the hugs, the stories, the laughter...the moments of life...sometimes the very things that drive me batty...are the very things she will now miss each day.  What a sobering thought.  I pray the Lord reminds me of the magnitude of the small things the next time I'm ready to run and hide in the bathroom.

Please keep her in your prayers as they make this difficult transition.

I was feeling the same way today. I was watching my kids at swimming lessons, and there was only ONE other stay at home mom. There were babysitters, grandmas and nannies, but most of these precious children had no momma to watch them. I am SO grateful that the Lord has allowed me to stay at home with my children. Blessings. ~K

Jul. 18, 2006 - Thankfulness

I really enjoy your posts and just wanted you to know that. I'm really struggling with so many things right now, I just feel broken hearted. After reading about the fellow hs'er who is sending her kids back to school, I realized that things are better than I am making them out to be. Then, I read your post to her, and the verse you posted "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18)" really jumped out at me. I'm claiming this verse and am claiming victory over my spirit of dispair! Thanks so much ~ keep up your great blogging!
:) Kit

The daily, sometimes hourly, musings of a homeschooling mom of four surviving on prayer, friendship and lots of Starbucks. Some days my cup runs over and some days it all spills out the cracks...and I wouldn't have it any other way.
