Aug. 15, 2007 - Excuse me?

Check out this story.

A Roman Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands wants people of all faiths to refer to God as 'Allah'.  Um, maybe he's from Neverland!  Apparently, he believes this would be a step Christians could take in making peace with Muslims.  According to his proposal, since we are all worshipping the same God, what we call Him is irrelevant.  WRONG!  Far from being irrelevant, the names of God hold significant meaning and are used in specific situations to call to mind what God has done.

Following their faulty line of thinking, why don't we have the Muslims call God 'Elohim', 'El Shaddai' or 'Jehovah'?  Imagine if a prominent Christian were to make such a proposition.  The Muslim advocacy group supporting the Bishop's change would be outraged.  Funny how the road doesn't seem to go both ways.

Wow that is crazy! We so need to be in prayer for the leadership in our country and the youth of today, so they won't be brain washed. When the churches and government start making decisions against God we are in trouble as a nation. I just keep praying for God's grace and mercy.

The article states that God doesn't care what we call him. Well, that's one more Catholic priest who hasn't read the Word of God. What about when Moses questioned God in Exodus chapter 3? Did God say that it doesn't really matter, just give me any ol' name? Or how about, just give me a name the Egyptians will like so you won't have any problems. Outrageous! I could go on but I guess I shouldn't rant and rage on your blog!
