Feb. 28, 2006 - The decluttering bug has hit our home!
I've been working on small decluttering projects over the last week or two. Today my oldest ds wanted in on the act too. He asked me to help him declutter his closet. He is a very tidy kid, but had let things slide recently. Lest you think too highly of me, tidiness is just part of his personality. The other little darlings are not so tidy! LOL! He did a great job and finished up by vacuuming the floor.
AWWWW. How'd you manage that? What a good boy. The bug sure has hit your family. But, can I borrow a bug to infect MY kids. I have one really tidy one and she's not even into cleaning right now. So, any advice to encourage this, and not have it become nagging would be appreciated. :)
How wonderful that he desires to help and to be tidy. That is a godly characteristic after all... our Lord desires things to be done decently and in order ( 1 Corinthians 14:40 ~ "Let all things be done decently and in order"). I looked at some of your other posts with photos and your place looks great. We get the declutter bug often, too. Keep up the great work. I look forward to reading future posts.
Our family of 5 live in a 3 br home that must also house an office, exercise area, and storage area for our business. I need to take a bulldozer to each and every room and start over!
I love de-cluttering. There's something very freeing about putting stuff into big bags and giving it to charity (or taking it to the dump). We can accumulate so much junk, little bits of this and that, that sit around the house collecting dust and serving no good purpose.
The motto in my house is ....have you used it in the past couple of months, does it bring you joy? If not, the article is destined for a new home.

We have been trying to declutter the house but seem to get discouraged fairly easily. We managed to get through all out clothes and then have stopped. I would like to get the house decluttered so I am happier and not so worried about the house and can relax more through the day. I would love the secret! *wink*
If I had a photo of my DS vacuming....I'd be in the picture, too...passed out from shock :) Doesn't it feel good to get rid of stuff...it looks great!! We've had to declutter (well, except the garage...see blog photo) since we have our house on the market. Now, you're ready for Spring!
