Happy 4th of July ~ Happy Birthday, America!
Happy freedom to homeschool for all of us! Do we really understand what this means? Probably not. I know how quickly I and other homeschoolers I know get ruffled at the mere thought of any government entity even blinking a thought of changing current homeschool laws where we live. I would encourage all of us in the homeschooling community to peruse through the different states' regulations for homeschoolers. We are BLESSED, BLESSED, BLESSED! to live in Georgia where we are priviledged to homeschool autonomously. We really need to [mentally] parallel our freedom to homeschool with that of freedom of worship, freedom of expression (i.e. Blogging!) ~ there are those in other areas of the world who are persecuted because of their personal beliefs and if caught worshiping (especially Christians) suffer even death. I, personally, have limited knowledge about homeschooling in other countries except for the information that feeds through HSLDA. I imagine homeschooling worldwide is limited at best.
So while we celebrate today with our cookouts, our watermelon eating, swimming and later on tonight with our fireworks casually alongside family and friends, take a moment to give thanks to our Lord for those who have been led by His Holy Spirit to lift this country out of tyranny and stand fast for the freedoms we are so richly blessed with today and everyday.
