FREE Audio Books Online

Here is a site I came across recently that we are just loving! librivox.org records public domain books and releases the audio files on the Internet. My kids and I have been having a great time listening to these classic books. Here are some of the titles we have on our reading list:

Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz by L. Frank Baum

The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams

There are over 1100 titles to choose from! You can browse the whole catalog HERE.

Friday, February 29, 2008 - Awesome site!

I have to agree on how terrific the librivox site is. We often have a long drive to do all our errands or homeschool group or whatever and it has now become a joy as we listen to the amazing classics we've downloaded from librivox. We only just discovered the site two weeks ago, but have already listened to:

The Railway Children
Tom Sawyer and
Little Women

There's only so much time we can spend sitting around reading - and with this great website we can listen (with our ipods) while we DO things as well!

I HIGHLY reccomend this site to everyone!
