Summit Ministries has 2 goals for students enrolled in Understanding the Times:

Worship Ballet in Waialua

From Nicole and Joanna Lam:

Dear Parents,

I have really exciting news!!! Worship ballet classes in Waialua will be starting this month! Praise the Lord! God is so good and I am pleased to announce that Waialua United Church of Christ has accepted my proposal to use their facility. I am so excited and blessed to be able to teach in the Waialua community. Class information is below and please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested:)
Love,
Nicole Lam

Spring class schedule- Date
Wednesday, February 20 - May 7, 2008.
Times

2:00 -2:40pm 3-4 years old
2:45-3:45pm 5-7 years old
3:45-4:45pm 8-15 years old
The Goal of the Class
To build a ballet technique foundation upon a perspective that uses dance as an expression of worship unto the Lord. This class will include ballet technique training and worship dance (free-style or choreographed).

Cost:
To help cover the cost of renting the room I am asking $8 per class per student. Please make checks payable to Nicole Lam, thanks.

Place
Waialua United Church of Christ Community Center
67-174 Farrington Highway, Waialua 96791 (the Church is right next to Waialua High & Intermediate School). Parking is available in the Church parking lot.

Class Size:

Each class can hold 12 students for the 3-4 year old class and 12-16 for the older classes, so please RSVP as soon as possible to prismaballet@gmail.com. Also my phone number is 224-9462.

Uniform
ballet slippers and leotard (skirts and tights are optional). Also the hair needs to be either in a bun or ponytail. Please NO big jewelry or dangling earrings (this is for the safety of the dancers).

A nutshell background on myself
At 6yrs. old I studied ballet from Dorene Marumoto at Kilauea Rec. Center. At 7 yrs. old I started attending Hawaii State Ballet where I have been dancing for 13 years under the instruction of Mr. Landovsky. In 2002, I went to Ballet Magnificat!'s summer program (a Christian ballet company). There the Lord released me and taught me how to worship Him with dance. For several years now the Lord has placed the desire to start a ballet/worship class for homeschoolers and Christians. In 2006, the Lord opened up a facility in Kaimuki to start teaching and in 2007 another wonderful facility became available to teach at, thanks to the Wong family. During the summer of 2007 I went back to Ballet Magnificat!, this time as a teacher, and it was awesome! Besides it being a fun and spiritually refreshing time the Lord gave me a clearer vision for the worship ballet and what it is really all about. I am so excited as the Lord continues to unfold His will. In 2007, I was invited to guest perform in Louisiana, performing the Dew Drop fairy in the Nutcracker Ballet. He is so faithful as He provides everything in His perfect timing! May Jesus Christ receive all the praise and glory!!!

Save 50% on Your Favorite
The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Products!

Looking for Fresh Inspiration for the New Year?

At The Old Schoolhouse we know that there is more than one right way to homeschool. We believe that each family has to figure out what method and educational philosophy "fits" their family best. Some parents may be juggling work responsibilities and homeschooling. Others are homeschooling as single parents. Some have special needs children, while others are still learning the basics of home education. In all of our products, we strive to present a variety of authors and resources which will inspire and encourage you as you tailor your homeschool to your family's needs.

And now for seven days only, we're putting all of our TOS e-Books and audio books on sale for 50% off.  Plus our back issues normally priced at $9.90 are 50% off too.

If you've never bought an e-Book before, now is a great time to try one!

Each one is under $7 and you'll be able to download them immediately after checkout.

Secrets of Successful Homeschooling covers everything from the questions you should ask to help you determine your philosophy of education to how to make your homeschool more fun and a natural part of your day-to-day life.

Have you crossed the line into high school? Homeschooling the High Schooler: from Transcripts to Graduation has suggestions for reaching your child's heart, teaching the higher level subjects, converting extracurricular activities into credit courses, and much more.

Want to read some of the all time favorite TOS interviews with pioneers and leaders in the home education movement? You'll find these interviews and many more in Homeschool Dialogues.

Would you rather listen to these as audio books? It's a wonderful way to be encouraged as you're driving in the car, working or relaxing around the house. Each is under $9 and at these prices you can buy one for a friend who needs some encouragement too!

Do you struggle with trying to find the balance between academics and home life? Does relaxed homeschooling sound good to you, but you wonder if it's really as thorough as public school?  Gena Suarez's Well Integrated Homeschool audio presentation reveals the problems with public education and the blessings of a natural integration of learning at home.

We're sure you'll enjoy each of these resources and all of the great information in our back issues of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. Don't forget them!

Our regularly priced $9.90 back issues are all less than $5 for this sale - and the shipping is free. We'll send them right out to you. You'll find words of encouragement from your favorite writers, unit studies, information on the various teaching styles, plenty of homeschool research, and so much more.

Just take a look at the FANTASTIC prices on e-Books, audio books, and back issues and bring some fresh inspiration into your homeschool this year!

Sale Ends midnight Sunday, January 27. International customers please note, due to high international shipping costs, audio books are only available for US customers and back issues require a shipping upgrade
