Our Schedule

As I mentioned in the previous post, I am home sick from church and have had some time to think of a plan for our schedule.  I tried and tried to make a MOTH schedule work for us but I just kept feeling so overwhelmed.  I prayed and asked the Lord to give me an idea that would work good for our family.  I basicly took things we already do in our day and worked our new school lessons in there.  I split up our times into different blocks.  I did this because it is easier to work with a block of time in our household then to split up our time into half hour (or even hour) increments.  So here it is.  I am sure we will have to go back and change things a little as our year progresses but it gives us a start.

Fridays are our light, fun days!  We do our deep cleaning, which we call “Home Blessing” in the morning, Make Pizza for Dinner, Play Games in the Afternoon and Go for our Nature Walk. We will be adding in music and art this day as well.  In the evening Mama and Daddy go downstairs for their date night while the children sit at the table or in the living room to play games together.

Saturdays are our days when the boys work next to daddy and the girls and I sew, bake, work in the garden or do hand work.  Sometimes it is necessary to run errands this day.

It was so nice to have a peek into your schedule :-) This is such a wonderful idea! I often get a bit overwhelmed with my very strict MOTH schedule and try to remain flexible when possible but I love the idea of blocks. This would work great for us. We were going to try our new schedule starting tomorrow morning and I am thinking maybe I should something similar to your block schedule, especially with so many little ones!

Hope your feeling better tonight and thanks for the wonderful suggestions; I think I may be getting a tad better.

I wanted to come by and read your scripture memory method and I love it! What a creative way to get your children on fire for the Lord! I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, I hope you feel better very soon, I'm sure you do too.

Your schedule is wonderful, I'm sure things will fall into place for you easily. I look forward to getting to know you better, isn't it nice to make new friends?

I hope you are feeling better soon. We're starting up school again tomorrow after taking a 6 week summer break. I've also been doing a lot of scheduling and preparations. I really like how you have done it in time blocks.
Blessings,
~Becky

I really like the block of time concept. I think it should work well.

I also like the date-night concept. We get every night after 8 alone, but don't have a designated night. We have recently started "Family Fun Nights", which the kids are really enjoying. It is good to have one night a week where we can just enjoy being a family together, especially when you live together in community like we do.

I hope you are feeling better.

I came over to visit you! Thanks for writing a note about the Noah's Ark book! I took it to church last night to show some the ladies in my class and we talked a long time about the misconceptions and unintentional deception of other unrealistic books! I love your new house too! The library looks like a place I could spend a lot of time!

Thank you for my compliment about my blog site. I can take no credit! Your new friend, mamma1420, did it for me! She is a sweetheart! If she had time she would probably design one for every blogger on HSB just 'cause she is so sweet! I love it too!

I signed up as a friend to your site too! I will be praying for you and the new baby and the rest of your family!
Hope you feel better and have a wonderful week! In Him, Eva

Your schedule is great! I love the flexibility, but still remaining consistant and allowing everything to get done. Thanks for the encouragement.
