I have another post from today just below, so please don't forget to read that one as well :). My children are doing their writing and spelling lessons as I type so I have a minute to post some pics and thoughts on my homekeeping fall focus.
This fall I am going to be focusing on one room each week (or more than one when the rooms are smaller or easier to go through). I will post pics of the room when I am finished. I am also going to share my thoughts on the particular room...what I enjoy about it, what we do there etc.. I also will be sharing what areas of my home I have STRENGTHS in keeping and what areas are my WEAKNESSES.
I have to say, first, that I am NOT doing this to show off my home. What I feel in my heart about my home is a deep, sincere thankfulness to my Heavenly Father. If you have any doubts about this OR don't know our home story, but would like to read about it you can do so here.
So, here goes. :) Last night my hubby came home earlier than usual so the children were out playing with him. In this time I got this BURST of energy and began scrubbing down my kitchen. My kitchen, therefore, is my focus this week. I havesome pics to share of my work so far and then will list what else needs to be done before it is all finished up. Don't be fooled by the three different views of my kitchen....seems to make it look like I have this HUMUNGOUS kitchen, when in reality it is not that big (compared to my old kitchen anyways!). I love it just the same!

The kitchen would be one of my strengths. I love a tidy kitchen and seldom lay down at night with it out of order. If I do it starts off the next day with a bit of gloom. Last night I scrubbed the outside of the appliances, swept, mopped, scrubbed counter tops and did some rearranging. In these particular pics the canisters, utinsil holder and stove top items are in the dishwasher.
The children eat breakfast in this room at the breakfast bar. The windows have wonderful views and one can see BEAUTIFUL sunsets when the sun begins to say good bye! We bake bread, make scrumptious meals and BIG batches of cookies in this room! I love to sit at the breakast bar while the window is open and listen to the birds chirping and my children playing outside in the back yard.
So, what do I still need to get done in the kitchen? The cupboards and drawers on the inside need some major rearranging done! My focus now is to get that done and to get the refridgerator scrubbed. The microwave is clean because we hardly ever use it :) and my oven is clean because my friend , Jen , scrubbed it when she and her precious family came to visit us!
When this project is completed I will check in and let you know what my NEXT homekeeping fall focus will be!
Many blessings my friends! |
