My 8 year old son is our farm boy.  He loves everything about the farm and already relates so many things to the things of the farm.  Tonight he came to me and his words went something like this……

“Mama, a semi with its trailer is sort of like us and God.  The trailer, without the semi…well, it really isn’t worth all that much.  It can’t do anything on its own.  Well, we are like this.  You see, without God we can’t do much.  And you know what else, Mama?  If we are even hooked up to Him just a little, a whole lot can still go wrong.  We need to be hooked all the way on to Him and then He can do so much with us.”

I don’t know about you….but God sure has me thinking on these things tonight.  I am utterly amazed at the things that can come from the mouth of a child.  Are we hooked onto Jesus securely…or are we just a little hooked on Him, thinking it is just enough to get us by??????  Hmmmmmmmmm…………………..

"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn their darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.  These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them," says the Lord."

Isaiah 42:16

OH how many times I have felt like that blind soul, trying to feel my way down the path laid out before me!!!  How many times the path has been so unfamiliar, frightening and overwhelming!  Yet, how faithful He has been to turn all my times of darkness into great light!  How He has gone before me and made those rough places smooth. 

I sometimes, admittedly, fear what else lies ahead in my path of life.  One thing, though, I have learned to be true is that HE WILL NOT FORSAKE ME.  He is THERE!  I never walk alone. 

Times in this life aren't easy.  Sometimes it is the small things that weigh us down and then those dark times come that are so huge we feel we are suffocating from the very weight of them.  What is the ONE truth I keep my mind focused on day after day in this sometimes heavy life?  GOD CAN BE TRUSTED!  He can be trusted with my life.  With my trials, sorrows, tears, fears, frustrations.  With my joys and times of laughter!  He knows ME and I am safe with Him!

I know for a fact there are many reading my blog who are hurting... Who are worn out, heavy laden by the cares of the world and wondering when it will all lift.  Instead of asking the Lord this day to take it all away from us, let us lift our eyes up to Him and say, "Yes, I DO trust you with this.  Thank you for being the One sure thing I can believe in.  You have promised you will not forsake me and I will continue to believe this....even while I wait for that light to show, for those rough places to be made smooth!"
