We are finally starting to get settled into the new place and getting a feel for country life. It is lovely being surrounded by so much beauty - but also a HUGE change in many other ways. The kids and I are battling feelings of isolation and trying to get connected. We are starting to meet neighbors and miraculously a TON of homeschoolers! Praise God! We have found a church we like but to be thorough will probably check out one or two more. We are praying for a nice church family and a good circle of friends in the near future.
On another note - have you ever checked out Mrs. Wilt's blog? It's one of my favorites. Lot's on inspiration to be found there. Check out this post - I am having serious feelings of cake-envy ;O) http://www.typepad.com/t/trackback/1114243/21479159.
Thanks for dropping a note. I enjoy getting to know folks and am glad you dropped in! I did not get to read your previous posts, but I see you have moved and are getting settled in. I hope you get to enjoy the country like we do. I love the quiet (no city noises) but love the noise of the outdoors:) As I type this the kids are outside laying on blankets staring up at the sky. There seem to be tons of stars out tonight! Anyway, have a terrific week and hopefully we shall chat again. Tammy
Country life is amazing.. We're blessed, because even in the middle of the city, here in Alaska, you just have that "out in the country" feel where EVER you are.. So we're thankful (being at the end of the road with nothing other than woods and trees ahead and beside you helps.. don't ask me how we lucked out with that one in the middle of Anchorage!)- this is the next best thing to being out on 15 acres. You will love it.. I've done the "country life" thing and can't wait until later when we have kids and my husband and I are able to find a place with a little more land where we can have some pups and chickens and maybe even a muckie pond with ducks like my sister's (jenig's) hehe..
have a great time adjusting..i *know* you'll love it! :)
