Celebrate with me!
My 8-yo did the last lesson of Reading Made Easy today! I have now taken two dd's all the way through RME. It feels like quite an accomplishment. My 10-yo dd is making some chocolate candy for the 8-yo, to celebrate.

I cried when we read the last chapter of Gideon's Gift and dd8 just looked at me like "What?" It's just so touching when Gideon remembers what Mama said about "all the glory belonging to the Lord." That's what it's all about.

Aww, congratulations to you and dd8! =o)
Wednesday, November 30 - Congratulations!
It always seems like reading is the biggest hurdle, at least mentally. I always felt like, once I had a child reading, nothing would be impossible.
Friday, December 2 - That's great!
Now she's on her way. Reading is a big hurdle, and so great once you're over-- it's like jumping over a wall and into a brighter world. (I remember when I began to realize what words said, and to make sense of paragraphs and things. I thought, "Wow! I didn't know it could get this good!" There's something about a good book that just opens your imagination to the possibilities.)
I love reading.
