Friday, January 20 - This is Looking Really Doable
The Little Women have their table time and then you are reading one to each so far as I've read,
the Age of Fable and An Island Story. Very able to get that in with your three school age ones. This looks really good to me, realistic.
I know what you mean about posting the days, I wasn't going to do it, thought it was boring, but honeslty it has helped me stay focused so many times, more than I can count to know I have to post something, it is an accountablity check. I'll look forward to reading yours, to seeing how geo and nature study and art works out.
Have a good weekend !

Friday, January 20 - Plutarch
Well, we started with Poplicola, which most AO users say seems the easiest. And we are using Anne's notes. The funny thing is that my 8-yo dd seems to be enjoying it as much as (if not more) than my 10-yo dd!!!
I read them Anne's commentary *before* we read the actual text selection. I don't do anything with the vocabulary that Anne has laid out. After I read the text, then I read Anne's closing commentary and we discuss. I have not required them to do any narration of this at all, other than what comes up in our group discussions.
The actual text is very hard for them to follow, but with each reading it is getting easier. We just did the third lesson yesterday and they said it was the best yet (which means they understood more of it). They are particularly enjoying our discussions afterwards.
I'm finding it easier to do this Plutarch thing than to get started with actual Shakespeare plays. I have been reading to them from Tales from Shakespeare, but not the actual plays. I'm wanting to start the plays, but just haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe next week? :-D
