Here is the picture of my kids from our local paper. They were helping to promote the summer reading program that our library puts on every year. After every 5 hours of reading, they can get a prize from the librarian in the picture. The prizes range from bookmarks and little prizes to books. Naturaly I want my kids to pick the books.
We also participate in Barnes and Nobles summer reading program, where they get a free book after reading 8 books, and a summer reading program from about.com's homeschool section. After reading 500 pages (I think that's what it was) they send in the form and in a month they recieve back some small prizes. Build a Bear also has a reading program, but it ends in a week or so. With theirs you get a 5.00 gift card to the store. My kids just love the store so this is perfect for them.
