My thanks to my new friend Kitty, whom I met at the WATCH conference for sending this!

I loved it, and both my husband and I feel a renewed sense of vindication as we know we are not the only ones who experience this!

Have a great day everyone

Love the cartoon -- that is totally my life right now, with 15, 13 and 11 year-olds, and an 18 month-old. Oh, for a little solitude (or a few quiet minutes with my husband).

My daughter found out from your daughter (Savannah, I think) that you and your husband would be on channel 20 today (we live in Renton), so we watched! I was amazed at how encouraged I was after hearing you guys today. I'm an "old" homeschooler -- this is our 10th year (or maybe 11th?), so I tend to think I've "heard it all" -- though I certainly don't know it all. But whether I've heard it all or not, I did receive some wonderful encouragement and affirmation from you today. (And it was funny, too, when you were talking about testing -- you sounded just like me, Heidi. I tell my kids, "These tests are really for me, to tell me how well I'm doing as your teacher." You said something similar today, and I pointed at the TV, saying, "See? See?" LOL.)

Have a great weekend. :-)

Thanks for the post on 5 tips for the new school year, it was a nice reminder for me to stay on track. Love the adjusted newsletter idea, it will surely keep us up on what is going on with you. Your ministry is staying on my prayer list! Enjoy every moment of the new school year.

What a great little comic, and SO TRUE! (What is it about closing the bathroom door that makes kids drop everything and come running?) You know what, I have a mount Never-rest waiting for me too, isn't that a strange coincidence?

About Me

Heidi and her husband, Jay, have been married for over 17 years. They reside in Ridgefield, WA, where they homeschool their six children. The children range in age from 15 to 1 and Heidi "highly recommends having older children!" When Heidi is not climbing Mount Never-rest (folding laundry),changing diapers or washing dishes, she enjoys writing, trying new recipes she finds on the internet and encouraging other moms. The St. Johns founded First Class Christian Homeschool Ministries, a parachurch organization dedicated to helping churches start homeschool co-ops in their communities.
