What's about as FUN as watching my dear husband or children laugh with reckless abandon?

Watching my precious Mom do it!!

We have season passes to Dollywood and we took my Mom and step Dad on Sunday!  What a ball!  Dollywood is a family amusement park with lots and lots of rides, shows  and fun for "kids" of all ages!:)  As a child I got car sick and so did my husband!   Today, there are only certain rides that we can go on.  As a result, our oldest often goes on rides alone and we just watch and wait for him to get done.   Sunday, he did not need to go alone!  My Mom has a stomach of STEEL and can do all of the rides that we can't !!  She also laughs and enjoys them HUGELY!!!!  She went on one called the Dizzy Disk and it was such a delight to watch she and our son laughing and enjoying it soooo utterly and completely!!  My husband and I almost get nauseated just watching it!  ( I really wish that I was exaggerating, but alas, I am not!  :(  )  My step dad did not feel so well, so he watched the wild riders and us ride and enjoyed the day vicariously through us!  All in all it was a crowded, but delightful day!  :)  I am thankful to God for family and for opportunities to do things like this!

Can any of you ride rides with abandon or are  you getting older and getting limited by your bodies?

I CAN ride them and have...but want to???? I do every new ride at Dollywood, then mark that off as a "done that one" and don't usually ride again. I've done the Dizzy Disk (ONCE) and most recently the new Mystery Mine. *check*. I'm glad your mom can stomach them all!!

Okay. How did I not know you were back at blogging. Maybe because I've been so hit and miss myself lately. I LOVE the dizzy disk. I could ride it over and over! : ) I don't do rollercoasters. (See my Disney World entry). I can relate to your mom. the first time I rode the Dizzy Disk, I laughed hysterically, too. In fact, there's also a picture on my blog somewhere--probably last May--of me doing just that! We haven't been this year. Well, my 2 little girls have been once with my parents. I hope to get there sometime soon.
We do the same thing with plants. We're terrible. I'm also horrible at remembering to water plants.
Yes, I have missed seeing you at Bible Study. I had to drop out this time. Maybe I can rejoin next time, if I am feeling better by then, and if life is a little slower than the spring.

The only ride I truly and truly enjoy is the scrambler.. it makes me giggle. I love the wind that rushes through my hair. I love that it goes so fast. That's it.. nothing else makes me laugh. That one there is my favorite. We got to ride it in the rain.. it was even better. I will be out there tomorrow. I WILL ride the scrambler.
How wonderful to have a mom who can still do all the riding. Not me..
Blessings,
Maria

May. 26, 2007 - No, I don't ride the rides

When she asks me to, I will ride Bob & Larry with Em, but I don't enjoy even that little coaster. I do have fun on the bumper cars when Caleb rides it, and we do ride River Rampage, though we haven't yet this year. (I don't really enjoy getting wet, but this is one ride we can all do.) Tony will ride Mystery Mine if we get back there. (I won't, but he will try anything once. I don't do coasters.) When Em sees the bill boards she is worried that her daddy will be afraid.
We do enjoy the shows, especially during the international festival.
We have only been a couple of times this year, because we have been working so hard on the old house. We are to the point of being ready to list it with an agent. Please pray that it will sell soon. With Tony's job situation, we really need it to sell quickly.
