Loving, Learning and Living by God's Grace:)

Jul. 3, 2007

Lots of this and a little bit of that!:)

Life has been just flying by at our home!  We have had soccer camps, music lessons and now swimming lessons!  We have had unexpected as well as expected things going on!  Something unexpected was coming downstairs one morning to our sideby side refrigerator/ freezer with the freezer opened and about half of its contents thawed and/or melting!  What fun to cook my first turkey(UGH!!!) while also cooking Polish sausage, breakfast sausage and throwing away and cleaning up my stinky, icky raw meat juice from the floor and all that it dripped on!  I am sooooo grateful, however, that my other turkey was still frozen solid! :):):) Cooking two turkeys unexpectedly would probably have thrown me about over the edge!:(  Praise the Lord for only sending me halfway over and then allowing me to cling tightly to Him as I floundered!!  That was certainly NOT on my to do list for that day!!  Another day our son opened his bedroom blinds to ask if I had looked out the front window yet todaY?  A BIG hunk of one of our Bradford pear trees had fallen in a storm and had ALMOST knocked out our telephone.  I had not planned on spending a BIG hunk of that day working on the tree so that the phone people could repair the line safely!  UGH!!!  I am finding out and re-learning that the plans that I have for my day are soooo often NOT the plans that God may have for my day!!  I have been wanting Him to get on board with my plans rather than asking Him if I can be on board for HIs!!  UGH!!  What a slow learner I am!  I am just praying that He will help me to have a teachable spirit and that I will be more flexible in my days, which really belong to Him anyway, since I am His!:):):) I pray that you are His!!! and that He is helping you order your days!!!:):)

Dear Angie-
Thank you so much for your prayers! I am so thankful that I know you. I want to have you over soon!
Life will not slow down here - as it may not at your house BUT I want to make a point to get together.
I will be in touch soon.
Love,
Maria
PS -- I too am always stumped with my plans not going the way I WANT them to. God is always good in showing me that I am HIS and therefore His will should be mine.

Hi Angie!

Were you at the curriculum fair last weekend? I thought I saw you twice, ( since I've only seen you once wasn't totally sure!) but once I was eating and you were way down the row talking, and the other time I was paying and by the time I was done you disappeared. Was it you I saw? :)
My plans seem to get changed about 80% of the time. I'm not always very nice about it either. Seems like I have a hard time remembering I have asked the Lord to help me accomplish what he wants, and go right back to my own plans!

It is such a bummer when that happens with the freezer. I just got a chest freezer, and I'm a little nervous about that kind of surprise.

In Christ,

Amy

You have certainly been a busy lady this summer. Gee. Plans. This is actually kind of a funny post to me. Maybe the Lord sent it. See...in my old age, I have gotten very lax about plans. yes, I have some general ones, and yes, sometimes I have some specific ones. But, for the most part, I have become a very layed back, let's see what happens or needs to be done today kind of person. The more I read other people's blogs about all their plans and schedules, the more I feel convicted (or is it just guilt) at my lack of intense planning. As I read your post, I thought, "Gee! Maybe it's okay not to be over planned. Maybe it's okay to just let God plan my day, as long as I am not lazy or scattered with it. Hmmm....a new perspective I'll have to pray about.
I miss you coming by.
