 This stuff works great!
Hand Sanitizer
Store bought hand sanitizer from the health food stores are so expensive! The ones from the conventional stores are not safe. So I decided to make my own and see how it turned out. This was my result and it worked great!
I took an empty hand sanitizer bottle and washed it out. I put the following into the empty bottle........
1 part distilled water
1part food grade glycerin
1 part witch hazel
1 part 100% pure aloe vera gel
15-20 drops of pure lavender essential oil (that was for a bottle this size)
Put enough lavender to have a good strong scent.
I shook it up and that is all there is to it. Apply it and use it just like you would any other hand sanitizer and it works great!
You can buy all these items at the health food store. It may cost a little bit of money to get the supplies but it will provide you with many, many bottles in the end and you will save a lot of money! A small bottle of sanitizer at the health food store, one about this size, is approx $4.00. I am set on sanitizer for a long time and it takes no time at all to make! You can add tea tree oil to it also or do one with just tea tree oil and not lavender. You can add any essential oil that has antiseptic properties to it.
Here is the breakdown of what each item does in the sanitizer:
Witch Hazel ~ Witch Hazel extract has astringent, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibacterial, anti fungal, and anesthetic properties, making it indispensable for a variety of different medicinal and cosmetic uses.
Lavender Oil ~ Lavender Oil is cleansing and is an antiseptic.
Tea Tree Oil ~ Tea Tree Oil is also antiseptic in properties.
Aloe Vera Gel ~ Aloe Vera Gel is soothing, moisturizing, and healing to the skin.
Glycerin ~ Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture to your skin.
~Topical for yeast and fungal infections, including psoriasis and eczema
~Improves spread ability of sanitizer
Distilled Water ~ Used to help thin the sanitizer solution so it comes out of the bottle easily.
Have fun creating your own!
Dearest Lord thank you for creative ideas that help us to save money! In Jesus name I pray, Amen! |
