• Sep. 26, 2008 - Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder......
They Say that Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder.......

Yet sometimes our vision becomes obstructed.......

But if we stop and take the time to look and smell the roses..........

It is a beautiful way to regain our focus..........

And a reminder that this beauty was created for our purpose.........
Dearest Lord,
Thank you for the beauty that surrounds me. It blesses me each and every day. Thank you for caring enough to demonstrate your love in this way! In Jesus name I pray! Amen~

• Sep. 25, 2008 - Sunset, Sunrises and Contrite Hearts.......
Sunsets, Sunrises and Contrite Hearts........

At the end of the day when all is said and done, I look out at the skies that the Savior has given to everyone. The beautiful colored orange skies can settle an anxious heart. I cannot help but thank the Lord for the joy that fills my heart. His sunsets are a small reminder that he loves me and truly cares. And whatever may of happened that day He never allowed more than I could bear.

The silhouetted hills remind me how the day is coming to end and how the night is about to start. It is then that I remember I have been given another start. Another opportunity to seek my Saviors heart by asking for His wisdom with an open and contrite heart.

As I look out into the distance beholding the miles and miles of beauty. My heart can't help but grow closer and closer to my precious Lord His truly.

Then I take the time to stop and look before my eyes. No longer peering out into the distance, that my eyes were once able to see. My heart feels so warm inside, because of the suns beauty. It's rays that shine, have taken the time to stretch out across the sky. They peer at me through the leaves upon the trees as my heart can't help but wonder why. And I know that in my heart His beautiful creation only brings me closer to Him. So I know that when my Lord stops to look within my heart, a love for Him and all His beauty is exactly what He will see within.

When the night is over and a new day begins. I awake to a new sunrise that I know is from Him. I cannot help but realize the smart thing to do. Is to graciously accept this wonderful new day as His precious gift meant for both me and you.

So why does it seem so hard to choose and decide which road I will take. My heart desires to stay on the straight and narrow completely for His names sake. Doing the right thing is not always easy to do. Because I am still flesh and blood and just another sinner like the rest of you.

When I take the path that seems greener to me it does not always make me a winner. Because if the path is not what God had intended for me to take it means I will only grow more into a sinner

So with each and every day I need to make the right choices. Grower closer to God means following His direction and tuning out all the wrong voices. My heart belongs to you oh Lord, I know you know my heart. But because I am a sinner each day I need to begin with a new start. My souls cry, to you oh Lord, is that you teach me all your ways. Help me to grow more and more in your likeness with each and every new day!
Dearest Lord,
May you fill my heart always with your love, direction and wisdom. Keep me pliable, obedient and genuinie in my heart to you. With each and every moment my heart wants to always stay true! I praise you and I thank you for all you do! Thank you dear Lord Jesus for loving me as you do! In Jesus name I pray! Amen~

• Sep. 24, 2008 - Goodbye Summer and All of the Beauty that it Holds......
Goodbye Summer and All of the Beauty that it Holds........
Pretty soon summer will be a memory of the past. The beauty that it holds is slowly slipping away. The look of life is slowly fading away. Winter is around the corner with the look of barreness that it holds.....

Winter arrives.......

Winter months hold their own unique beauty, even if the look of life is not one of them. It holds a look of being clean, crisp and pure. It is a vision of serenity and peacefulness. It is a good way of visually seeing how the Lord Jesus takes our crimson colored sins and makes them as white as snow......

Within each and every season there is a message that it holds within itself. A message of beauty, hope, love, joy and peace. Messages to us from a loving Creator, who strongly desires to give us a total and complete rest within Him and all that He has created. When I take the time to look upon and within the creation that He has surrounded me with, I never have a problem finding peace and harmony amongst the daily stresses of my life. All I have to do is go grab my camera and start capturing whatever beauty my eyes behold within their lens. Then I capture that moment within the lens of my camera to be remembered by me always. It doesn't seem to matter what season we are in, I can always find something amazing to capture in the moment. Whenever I am done I always find that a calm has been washed over me. God speaks to me about the love He has for me throughout the beauty that I love so much and enjoy.
I have said this before and I will say it again. If you find yourself stressed and worn out, go grab your camera and soak in the beauty hidden within the seasons. When you do that it would be impossible to walk away not feeling refreshed, renewed and completely loved. As if the Lord Himself had given you a big hug. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. Please do share with the rest of us what enjoyment you were blessed with!
Dearest Lord,
I pray that you will forever touch each and everyone of us as we stop and take the time to enjoy the beauty you have placed around us. Teach everyone to soak in your creation as a natural tranquilizer to the every day stresses of life! Speak to us and let us forever feel your love with every flower we behold and every sunset we soak in. I pray you will bless each and every one that reads this post. In Jesus name I pray! Amen~

• Oct. 30, 2007 - Whoooo's Watching You? Who? Who?... Who? Who????
Whoooo's Watching You? Who? Who?... Who? Who????
Do you recognize this serious and majestic looking guy? My son came running inside to tell me, "Mommy come look at the owl in the tree." He preceded to tell me "I see him all the time in our trees." Wow, where is my mind when this owl is up in our trees watching me? How many times was I unaware of his presence?
This owl just sat up in the tree for quite sometime. The more I noticed him and the closer I got to him he decided I was paying too much attention to him so he decided to fly away. I was so bummed I didn't get a good shot of him as he took off into the sky. His wing span was large, that would of been a great picture. Oh well, maybe next time.
When I looked at that owl and tried to photograph him, I thought about our Heavenly Father. I thought about how He too sits up in the heavens looking down watching over us as we go throughout our often very busy days and lives. It caused me to stop and wonder just how often am I unaware of His presence in my life? How many times do I rush throughout my days forgetting that He sits and watches over me in ALL that I do. He is also wanting me to notice Him and acknowledge his presence ALWAYS and in ALL things!
He is the opposite of that owl in the sense that the owl flew away when he felt I was noticing him, getting too close and giving him too much attention. Jesus would never attempt to get away from me when I take steps to get closer to Him. He desires for me to be close by Him and He desires me to notice Him. He wants me to know that He is up there watching me at all times, because He loves me and wants to be part of my life!
So as you go throughout your day take the time to remember that your Heavenly Father awaits your attention, your praise and your love! He wants to be a part of your every moment throughout your life! WOW! Isn't that awesome! It is a good reminder that we are never alone! Even during those times when humans tend to let us down, our Jesus never will!
So next time you find yourself feeling lonely and sad take a moment to remember that you have a special and loving friend who is right there by your side, who loves you and cares for you. His name is Jesus, if you belong to Him He promises to never leave you nor forsake you, isn't that such great news?!!! I know it is for me! It helps me to get through those times I thought I wouldn't make it through!
Dearest Lord, I thank you for never leaving me! I thank you for always watching over me and for being part of my life in all that I do! Forgive me for the times I get too busy and may not acknowledge you as much as I should! I want my children to know you and be aware of you with each step of their lives! Continue to teach me how to give them at awareness! And for those who do not know you I pray you will reach down and make yourself known to them as you have done in my life so many times! In Jesus name I pray, Amen~
Blessings and Hugs to you all! Don't forget to always be looking up!

• Oct. 23, 2007 - The Beauty of Color and Variety.....
The Beauty of Color and Variety.....
There's a lot to be said....
For the beauty of color and variety found in all of God's creation....
God created all things to be different from one another....
All of His creation holds unique qualities of their own....
He put the beauty of VARIETY and COLOR into all that has He made, especially PEOPLE....
And when we take the time to see people and all things in the same way that God sees them....
We will be able to enjoy the same wonder and beauty that He enjoys with each and every passing moment of our lives....

God knew what He was doing when He added color and variety into our world....
Without color and variety things would not be nearly as beautiful as they are now....
Nor would anything stand out on it's own as it does when color is found in it....
Without color things too easily blend into one another taking away from the unique characteristics found in all that has been created....
So go outside and enjoy the color found in all those fall leaves....
Then I leave you with the challenge of finding some color and variety during those winter months....
It is still out there you just have to look for it...
Dearest Lord,
I thank you for the beauty of color and variety found in all things that you made! Without it the world would be a boring place to look at. Color is so pleasing to the eyes and I enjoy the variety of all I see! I thank you and praise you for the wonder of it all! In Jesus name I pray, Amen~

• Oct. 12, 2007 - True Beauty is in the Eyes of Our Maker....
True Beauty is in the Eyes of Our Maker....

We don't all always sees things in the same way....
Many feel that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder....
One mans junk is another mans treasure....
This may hold true for material things....
But the true Beauty of a person comes from the inside and shines through to their outside....
We should never judge a book by it's cover....
So it is also true for people....
Just because someone is beautiful on the outside does NOT mean they are beautiful on the inside....
This also holds true for the following....
Just because someone is not so beautiful on the outside does NOT mean they are NOT absolutely beautiful on the inside....
God (Our Creator) looks at our heart, which is on the inside, not at mans outward appearance....
If you look at someone long enough you can usually see what they are made up of....
I love to find the beauty in all of God's creation....
But not everyone or everything has beauty in them to be found....
Be cautious with whom you place your trust....
For it would be wise to trust only in those whom truly love the Lord....
Regardless of what they look like....
Looks are temporary where the heart lives on forever....
Dearest Lord, Thank you for allowing me to find the beauty in those things where beauty is to be found! In Jesus name I pray, Amen~ |

• Oct. 3, 2007 - One of God's Many Signatures....The Harvest Moon....
One of God's Many Signatures...The Harvest Moon....
I cannot tell you in words what my soul felt when I first saw this harvest moon rising. I was in total awe. My dear and best friend Sheree told me when to be watching for it. Unfortunately the two nights I was supposed to be watching for it I was so very busy and forgot all about it. When I remembered I was so disappointed I had missed seeing the harvest moon she had told me about.
The next night I went out with my son to take the trash out, as I always do, and to my surprise this moon was in the process of rising. I was so absolutely excited and in total awe that I ran in and grabbed all my children to share in this rare moment with me. We all stood there amazed!! I thanked God with total joy in my heart for giving me this beautiful and breathtaking sight in a total time of need. It was His signature in the sky reminding me He is there, He is in control and I have nothing to fear or worry about!
Seeing this moon was also possible because I take the trash out nightly with my son. It became a tradition with him and I. I wrote about this in an older post I did about building those memories with your precious ones. I am so thankful that I built that tradition because it drew me outside right at the time I would observe that amazing beauty.
I love those God moments. In those times of need when I really need to feel God's presence and feel His arms around me. It is in those times that He will many times give me things like this. He knows that seeing amazing beauty like this stops me in my tracks and reminds me just how much I am loved by Him. It calms me, sedates me, and causes me to remember to trust in Him with all my heart. If I grow faint and weary God's signature in creation renews me. I become energized and I feel so refreshed like I can face anything again.
Next time you find yourself growing faint or weary stop and take the time to look around you. God's signature is in all of His creation and it surrounds you. If you seek you will find, I promise you!!! It is everywhere you just need to be looking for it. My mind was so busy that day I happened to not be purposely seeking. But God just gave this moment to me anyway. He knew I was in need of a refresher. He knew I was in a weary state at that time. Being the loving Father that he is he gave me the best energizer I could ever ask for that very moment. It sure worked! I was refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed in a matter of moments!
So stop for a moment and look around you dear sisters. Soak in God's amazing love it is everywhere! He wants you to be renewed! All you have to do is keep your eyes open! Doesn't that sound so simple? Well that's because it is! So go out and seek to find God's amazing signature and share with us all what you find!
Dearest Lord your signature is breathtaking! Thank you for always touching me in ways that I never imagined possible! Your love is amazing! In Jesus name I pray, Amen~

The joys of sisterhood....The joys of just having a friend....

Those breathtaking majestic mountains to look at and enjoy....

The love of a father....A father's love....

Seeing the amazing details of the moon so clearly during the day....

Having fresh water to pump....

The beautiful colors of a rainbow right in your own backyard....

The color purple especially when it is in a flower....

A ripe and luscious berry to pick and eat....

The beauty one can find even in the smallest and frailest of flowers....

Having flower patches for the hummingbird moths to visit.....

Those flowers that are truly pretty in pink....

Intricate details found in all things even a weed....

The beauty of those red clustered berries that attract and feed the birds....

Tall fields of grass to run and play in....

Life can get so busy! I can often get so lost in the chaos of life's events. So I need my moments of absorbing the breathtaking beauty that surrounds me. One way I do this is by grabbing my camera and looking for those simple things that surround me. When I do this it always helps ground me, it brings me such joy, peace and serenity. When I look through that camera lens I see things in a whole new light. The wonder of my eyes have now explored those things in a way I have never seen them before. It is as if God has made all things so new to me. By the time I am through taking my pictures I have a new found serenity. My heart cannot contain itself from rejoicing with a new song.
I thank God for my camera. If I didn't have my camera I would not be able to share all my new found amazement with all of you! Enjoy!
For those of you who are faint and weary at heart, stop, take a moment and take in all that God has surrounded you with precious ones! You will gain a whole new perspective when you see the beauty and blessings in all things! If you look hard enough you will find there is so much more than you ever could of imagined!!
For those of you who may not have a camera, rest and find peace in the pictures I share with you! God's beauty I captured here was meant for us all! Rest in the Lord dear sisters and be comforted in Him and all He has given us! Hugs and blessings to you all!

• Jul. 23, 2007 - Hummingbird or Moth??????
Mommy What is That Creature??????
It was dusk outside and I was relaxing as my boys were outside watering a few trees before bed. All of a sudden I heard, "Mommy, come quick!!" "You have to see this creature outside it is a mixture
between a bird, a moth, and a bee!"
I jumped up to go see what this new found creature was that they spotted. I was amazed at what I saw! It was starting to get dark outside so it was very hard to see clearly. But what I saw looked like many miniature hummingbirds eating the nectar out of our flowers.
These creatures got so close to us showing absolutely no fear and when they flew by you their wings hummed like a hummingbirds wings do. I was convinced that they were baby hummingbirds, but why so many? Why were they out at dusk and why were they not fearful of us? My boys ran in to get our butterfly nets and by the time they came back out the creatures were already done eating and left. They sure don't stick around very long!
Since we had so many questions we decided to make it a home school moment and we went inside as I Googled, "what insects look like a baby hummingbird." What I found out is the following:
The Hummingbird Moth hovers next to flowers to sip the nectar. Their wings practically vibrate they are moving so fast. They look just like a hummingbird hovering while sipping nectar from the flowers. These are such beautiful moths. These moths almost seem more bird-like than they do an insect. They are truly amazing!
Look at the pictures, I posted above, these moths look and act just like the hummingbird! It is hard to see, from these pictures, just how much these moths resemble the hummingbird. Seeing them up close is so much better!! This was a fun learning moment. We learned something new and that is what homeschooling for us is about! Learning together through everyday life and researching together to find answers to the things we don't know.
How my son described this moth is exactly how I found the info on internet to describe it also! Do a Google search with your children and see if you can learn more about this amazing creature. There is more to read on. There are three different types of this moth. One is called the bumble bee Clearwing Moth.
These moths are seen between the months of June-August. So at dusk go outside with your children and sit in an area where you have plenty of flowers and wait to see if you spot any of these spectacular moths yourself! Truly a fun homeschooling moment for everyone! Beware though that my boys ran in to get our butterfly nets so we could catch one of these little guys. We just wanted a close up look then we were going to let it go. They were back within moments with their nets but the creatures were already done eating and had left. They sure don't stick around very long!
Here is a little more information I found from the internet on these amazing creatures:
This is a Hummingbird Clearwing. At first we were just like you - thoroughly convinced this was a baby female ruby-throated hummingbird, but we just couldn't explain away those antennae! He mimics the hummingbird perfectly; wings just a blur, zipping here and there. He appears from June through August; feeding at our flowers. They are oblivious to people, allowing us within inches of them; but they refuse to pose for the camera very long.
Hummingbirds do not have striped backs. They do not usually appear to be brown. They will not let you approach them to get a closer look. If you believe you saw a brown, striped hummingbird, you probably saw the perfect hummingbird look-a-like. Hummingbird moths have disappointed many people who believed that they were seeing their first hummingbird.
Although you may have to wait longer to see a hummingbird, hummingbird moths are very interesting in their own right. Unlike most moths, they will fly during daylight. You can see many of them at any time of day but evening is the most productive time to watch for hummingbird moths.
There are quite a few different species of these beautiful moths and they visit flowers for nectar at dusk or twilight as you've noted. Most sphinx moths are active in low light but a few can be seen in daylight. Sphinx moths are members of the family Sphingidae and you can Google this group to see the various members that might be in your area.
Dearest Lord, thank you for moments like this when I get to learn along side my children! Thank you for giving us such interesting things to enjoy in your creation at the same time! This truly amazing moth was so enjoyable to watch! Thank you for that moment! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
