A Mom Just Like You.....My Journey through Life with 8 Children....

What are they Training to Be???
The Same yet So Different

My twins are very sweet in so many ways! Although they are identical in looks they are far from being identical in spirit and personality. One of them is very dainty in every way, a true girl in every sense of the word. She can spot something pretty a mile away and she just loves to be attached to me at the hip.

The other twin is also a girl but she has some tomboy in her also. She tends to be rougher, tougher and can spot an ATV a mile away (LOL) and she just loves to be attached to daddy at the hip.

My girls are always talking about how they are mommy training and training to be good helpers. One day the twin who is extra girly said, "I am mommy training" which caused the other one to pipe up and say, "Well I am daddy training." That was just too cute!

• Sep. 3, 2007 - My Little Girl is Growing Up....

My Little Girl is Growing Up....
First she learned how to ride her bike without any training wheels...

Then she lost her two bottom teeth....

Then we surprised her with getting her ears pierced as a before your birthday type present....

I told her it would hurt but it would be just for a moment....
We teach our children to be tough so they do not grow into whiners....
I know it hurt much more than she expected....
But she sure tried to be so brave and managed to smile afterwards....

She smiled anyway even right after it was done....
As big brother held her hand....

The happy little girl....

The earrings we chose are so adorable....

Here is a closeup of them....
What do you think....

Out to dinner afterwards....
She is enjoying her talk with her daddy....
She is daddy's little girl....

I prayed for a girl for so many years and now she is already turning 6 tomorrow.  So please dear mothers enjoy each and every moment with your little ones.  Soak it all in.  Journal about it.  Take pictures and have fun with them.  You will be so glad you did!

After praying for a little girl for so many years. God chose to give me what I had asked for but He made me wait many years before giving it to me.  I waited through 5 boys and many losses in between.  I used to wonder if I would ever have a little girl to hold here on earth.  I often wondered if any of my losses were possibly girls and I wouldn't get to see or hold them until I got to heaven.  It was a test of my patience and hope many times through the years.  But God grew me through all those years just as He does and has through everything else in my life.

Having daughters has been wonderful in so many ways for me.  I love to see them grow a heart for God.  I love to see them grow in learning how to serve others.  My girls are learning how to be daughters of the King.  They are learning how to one day be a wife and mother.  Each day of their lives counts.  Making good use of teaching and training them while they are still so pliable is my goal.  I think sometimes God made me wait to have my girls because He needed me to learn a few things first.  I needed to learn these things so that I could then teach them and pas then onto my daughters.  If I would of had my girls first there would of been a lot of wasted time in their lives while I was still yet learning so many things myself.

So for any of you who desire something in your life.  Remember God knows your heart.  He hears your cries and your requests and He answers every prayer.  Sometimes He says no, sometimes He says yes and sometimes He answers for us to wait.  But whatever the outcome is that God has chosen for you.  He will grow you through it one way or another.  Don't fight Him on any of it.  When we fight him dear sisters we are missing out on a lot.  When we accept that He truly knows best we will be much happier in the end. So don't grow weary my dear sisters.  God has not left you.  He has heard your cries and He catches your tears as they fall!  He knows what is best for us when we cannot see what He can see.  God sees the whole finished puzzle picture where we only see the pieces of the puzzle.  Trust with all your heart even when it is hard to do so!  If He says no to something it is because it is not right for us.  We may not understand now but one day we will.  So stay hopeful!

I have always said that God allowed me to lose so many babies throughout the years because He knows just  how much my heart loves and adores babies and children.  He has been building me a nursery in heaven.  So I will get to be a mommy and care for those little ones throughout eternity.  I have learned a lot through those losses. At first I would cry about them, I would be depressed and I just didn't understand why God kept taking my babies.  At times I would get mad at Him.  But it wasn't until I started accepting that God had His reasons for those losses. He allowed them so there was something to be learned through them.  I finally starting understanding and growing a peace about it all.  Maybe that will be another post.  But dear sisters if you seek you will find comfort even in those moments of sadness and grief.  Hold onto your dreams dear sisters and never let go of your hope in Christ!

Dearest Lord, Thank you for my precious little girl.  Thank you for saying yes to that prayer. Thank you for my precious gift.  You made me wait and it taught me patience and taught me to believe even when things looked doubtful.  I never stopped believing in my heart that I would one day have my girl and now I have 4.   Thank you for blessing us far beyond we ever imagined possible.  I pray for all the other mothers and women out there who have a burning desire in their heart for something they have prayed about receiving for a long time now.  Give them a peace and let them know you are right there and know what is in their heart!  You know what they long for.  If you choose to not give it to them Lord, because you know what is bestt, please give them a peace and acceptance about your answer.  Thank you for all your love and comfort!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen~

• Jul. 9, 2007 - Training to Be a Mommy

Training to be a Mommy..

I sure miss having a new baby in the house. It has been 3 long years since I last held a little new bundle of joy. I guess I always took for granted that we would always have a new little one to hold in our home. I have now learned to never take anything for granted. It was always a beneficial thing when we had a new baby around for our littlest ones to help teach, train,
hold, love, and care for. It was a way of them to learn how to train for their future rolls as a mommy or daddy when their time came. I often thought of the fact that my last baby or babies would not have had that same blessed opportunity that their siblings have had with having a new baby to help care for. The only things my twins have had the opportunity to mother is their baby dolls and each other. I have noticed dear mothers that whenever we are out all my children, even my twins will notice a baby and google over it. God has shown me that He puts the desires into our little ones and it is up to us to help grow those traits and willingness that they already have put into them.

Having twins has surely been a new type of adventure for me and they never cease to amaze me with their willingness to mother each other. Here is a typical picture of my twin girls trying to diaper each other. This is something they have done for quite a long time now I thought it was time to
capture the moment and share it. As you can see in these photos mothers, little girls will find ways to fulfill their mommy instincts this is just one example. My twins help each other brush their hair, teeth, get dressed, clean their rooms. They pray for each other if one is hurt, they hug each other if the other is sad their natural maternal instincts have proven to be endless it sure brings me such joy to watch moments like these.

Take advantage of these moments and embrace them. Talk to them about how wonderful their willingness to be a mother pleases God and you. Talk to them about how they are fulfilling a purpose God put in them. Talk to them about one day they will raise children of their own. These are rare and passing teachable moments and precious ones at that! Sometimes we tire from our long days of caring for those we love that we forget that this is just a season of our life that will soon be gone. Time passes oh too soon dear mothers and before you know it your children will be grown and those moments will be long gone. They are so easy to forget if we don't take the time to record them somehow. This season of life is just that a season so dear mothers enjoy it while you can it doesn't last forever!! Now go grab your camera or journal and be sure to capture the moments you may one day too easily forget but are worth cherishing for a lifetime.
Dearest Lord
Thank you for moments like these when my heart aches for a new little one to hold. I don't want to miss and pass over these precious times and lose hold of what I do have now. Thank you for such willing hearts to train for you Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen

• Mar. 31, 2007 - Praying Destiny Over Our Daughters Lives@>-->-->------------

Sweet sisters and fellow mothers, I was hoping to take this moment to share with all of you, some of my hearts deepest desires regarding my own daughters?  A Titus2 woman is instructed to help teach the younger mothers and this is something special on my heart that I would like to share with all of you, in hopes you sweet mothers would benefit from hearing it.  What I am about to share, is something I feel to be the most important way I work to instill precious attributes into my own precious daughters/childrens lives.  The most powerful way to instill these positive traits and produce fruit into the lives of your daughters/children is to pray those things you desire for them, right into their lives.  This prayer, I wrote out below, is prayed over each and every one of my daughters regardless of their age. The words I pray over my girls are my hearts deepest desires for their lives.  I speak it into their lives, claim it for them and stand on faith that the Lord will bring it to completion in them.  It is spoken over them nightly as we embrace our arms around each other and we are head to head during our prayer time. Our prayer time is always intimate and special.  My prayers also always include whatever else is going on in their lives at that time, like their weaknesses and strengths but the foundation of the prayer is written below, the prayers go something like this...........

Dearest Lord I thank you so very much for ____________.   I thank you Father for putting her into our family for she is so dear and precious to us and is such a blessing and an asset to our family in every way possible!  I thank you Lord that she is virtuous, Godly, humble, meek, gentle, kind, sharing, caring,  forgiving, obedient, sweet as well as a wonderful help meet and mommy in training.  May she always walk in your footsteps with each and every step of her life!!!  I thank you Lord that she is a good sister and is always looking out for her siblings.   I pray that her siblings, along with her spouse, will be her special best friends for a lifetime!!  I pray they will continue to pray for one another throughout all the the days of their lives.   I thank you that she is a servant to you by always looking for ways to serve others.  I thank you that she has learned to not wait around expecting others to serve her.  I truly believe Lord that by learning this character trait early on in her life she will never be disappointed by others not meeting up to her expectations.

Lord I pray that you will teach this precious girl what her purpose for being on this earth is.  I then pray Lord, that after you reveal this purpose to her that she will fulfill her purpose and do so with a completely willing heart!!  May she find her gifts and use them to glorify you while she blesses others.

I pray Lord that this sweet girl will always obey you by obeying us.  I pray that she will always love you Lord by loving us.  I pray Dearest Lord that she will always be caught and confess whenever she does something wrong therefore she will never live weighed down by the guilt of her wrong doings but instead she will always live in the freedom you gave to us at the cross through your precious gift of grace.  May she always accept her consequences willingly.  May she never grow bitter or angry over her consequences but instead may she acknowledge that it was her poor decision that brought the consequence into her life.  Therefore Lord I pray that she never puts the blame on others or becomes mad at them for the things she chose to do wrong.  Instead may she learn from her mistakes and never make that same mistake again.  May she see that when we learn from our mistakes then we have the advantage of saying it was a lesson was well learned.  May she never forget the importance of repenting for her sins Father.  Please teach her, loving Father, that TRUE repentance comes from the HEART.  It is when we are TRULY sorry, for what we did and  strive to NEVER do it again that TRUE repentance is taking place in our hearts, minds and life.  Repentance is a true issue of the heart and it is absolutely NOT just the motion of saying the words, "I am sorry".  Lord I want my children to learn that saying "I am sorry" is nice but it means nothing if they are nothing but mere words.

I pray that honesty, truth, love, peace, charity, grace, joy, faith, and hope are traits that will fill her heart for life!!!  I pray Lord, that she will always learn to look for the silver lining in all situations of her life.  May she never give up if things don't always go her way.  May she learn to always keep her eyes on you and may she learn to accept the good along with the bad.

I pray that her future husband is also being prepared to be a Godly servant, spouse and father in every way. I pray that his heart is being prepared to serve and love you all the days of his life!   I also pray for their future children, my prayer is that together they will raise Godly seed and train up their children to love and also serve you all the days of their lives!  I pray that together, as a family, you will be the keeper of their hearts and lives through life to eternity!  I pray that as a family that their eyes will forever be on you and you only!  I pray that this precious girl will continue to be her daddy and brothers help meet until the day she gets married for on that day she will then become her husbands help meet.

My hearts cry is that this precious girl, all our children we have been blessed with now and those still to come, along with all their future spouses and children to be will  forever be covered and protected by your precious, precious blood oh Lord!  I bind satan up, from all our lives, through this precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ!  I also pray dear Father that a legion of your angels will forever go before each and every one of us.  Oh Father as these angels watch over each of these children, as well as all their future spouses and their children to be, I pray that they will keep them forever safe from harm.  I also ask that your Holy Spirit will minister to them while they sleep and also throughout all the days of their lives.

Oh Father, thank you in advance for all these answered prayers.  We love you wholeheartedly.  We completely love you from deep down within our inner souls.  We thank you for all you do and all the answered prayers in our lives!!!  You are so precious to us and we are so thankful for all you have done for us and for all you are doing in our lives now and times to come!  Forgive us when we are selfish or unthankful!  Forgive us when we forget the reason why we are here.   Forgive us when we want to focus on ourselves instead of keeping our eyes on you!  We want to serve you always Lord!  Thank you for all you are to us!  In the precious name of Jesus we pray!  Amen and Amen!

Dearest mothers I hope and pray you have benefited from this prayer!  My heart desires that your heart is knitted closely with each of your children especially your daughters.  That mother/daughter bond is just such a precious one too precious to miss out on!  If anyone of you have any prayers to share or anything to add to this one please feel free to do so!  Sometimes I add more to my prayers but this is what I remembered for now!  Enjoy!

May you all be blessed today and always!  In Him your humble servant Brenda
