Tomorrow is Nienna's 1st birthday. I'm thinking about taking her to Petsmart and getting her a toy or two.
Today I had the crap scared out of me. I went into our shed to get the mower because I've put off mowing for long enough. The grass was getting high and the fireants were multiplying by 100's or something. Btw, I had to mow around 5 large hills. Hubby said he'd take care of them when he got home to visit. Oh anyway, I am digressing here. I went to get the mower and got that out and was reaching for the extension cord when I noticed a spider on the handle of one of my son's outside toys. I saw it and was creeped out, but something told me (the Lord I'm sure of it) to look at it again and sure enough, I saw that red hourglass figure on it's abdomen. If you've read any of my ramblings here, you'd know how petrified I am of spiders period, but this one in particular...........shudder. And I did not have my brave hubby to come kill it for me. So I had to be brave. I went out of the shed literally shaking and told my son to stay out of the shed and what was in there. I scooted our dog in the house too, and went to get the Raid. I used probably half the can on it. I made darn sure it was dead. Even stabbed it with a garden tool afterwards. I looked around for any 'friends' but didn't see any and wasn't going to look any closer for any. So, I believe the Lord saved us. Sometimes when we mow, he likes to take his toy and pretend to help us. He would have been bitten most likely by it. And I'm glad I mowed, as it poured down rain about 45 minutes after I was done. |
