I was thinking earlier today (yeah I know, quite a concept.....me.....actually thinking). Er, well, I was thinking today and as usual, I thought of something goofy and laughed aloud. And no, I am not a few fries short of a happy meal. But as I was chuckling, I saw something on TV (can't remember what it was) but it made me chuckle because it was just goofy. Then I thought, can God be goofy? I mean ok, He made us humans and I know we aren't perfect. Does He understand our senses of humor and just plain goofiness? Did being goofy come as a reaction of our sinful nature? I know it's not sinful to be silly, but being silly seems to be something less than perfect. God IS perfect, so where does it come from? By now you're probably wondering why you're still reading this aren't you. Yeah, admit it. Anyway, what do we find humorous? All kinds of things, right. Someone gets embarassed or hurt, sometimes we can't help but laugh. Well, like TV is set up that way. Someone trips or something and we find that amusing. Then again, maybe we're just laughing at our human-ness, our own foibles, our imperfectness. If we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at. Does that make sense? Ok, I'm going to regret writing this aren't I. Well, there are other more serious matters on my mind too, but I'll save those for another post.
