Wow! I hadn't realized that I hadn't written in over a month. What's up with that?? Well, time is passing us by fairly quickly. My husband will be home for good in just a couple of weeks! We are all happy about that. It's been hard on our youngest son, who misses daddy very much.
Our older son Marcus (the severely autistic one) is at a residential place for a few days. We finally were able to get him into their system. I admitted him yesterday and will pick him up on Thursday so that he cans spend part of his birthday (Friday) with us when he's not at school. He will be 18 years old! I feel so ancient now. lol He made the transition very well they tell me and he did sleep there, on the floor like I told them he would. Most people are very surprised when I tell them he sleeps on the floor. Honestly, he has had a bed in his room ever since he was born. When he finally was too big for his crib, he started sleeping on either his rocking horse or the floor. But anyway, I digress. I am very thankful that he is doing well. He did NOT do well yesterday when I left. He pitched quite a fit when I was leaving. Anyway, this is his first time there and so we are just testing to see how he will do before we actually leave him there while we go on vacation or visit family or something.
Since we didn't have to worry about being back for the bus, I took our younger son to the aquarium this morning. He had a good time looking at jellyfish, eels, an anaconda, sharks, and even got a hands on experience with a horseshoe crab and some hermit crabs. I still need to run a few errands, but thought I'd come home and let our dog out and get a load of clothes in the wash (ok, and sneak online too).
3rd grade for Nathan is coming along nicely. He is about to get a really nice dose of schooling for social studies. Before his dad comes back for good, he is going up there with him for a few days (DC) and they will check out the Smithsonian, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and several battlefields. So while they are gone and on the days Marcus will be in school, I will be by myself. I don't think I'll know what to do. lol But I know Nathan will enjoy being with his daddy and getting out and doing stuff.
Alright, I'll close now. I think this one is turning into a novel. |
