Sep. 29, 2007 - Alabama now 3-2 after River Sity showdown to Seminoes: 21-14

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the third straight week, the Alabama offense orchestrated a crucial two-minute drive at the end of the game, this week to pull within 21-14 of Florida State with 1:06 remaining, but an unsuccessful ensuing onside kick gave the Seminoles the ball to run out the clock and seal the seven-point win over the Tide in front of a record crowd Saturday at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

“I have to give Florida State a lot of credit,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “They were physical. They played with toughness. This was the first game I felt the other team was more physical than we were in terms of how we handled the line of scrimmage and the tackling, and I don’t feel we got that done.”

Alabama returns to Tuscaloosa next week to host the Houston Cougars for homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:07 p.m. and will be broadcast on Pay-Per-View.
