End of school... Convention.... Summer Vacation

We spent the weekend out of town attending a homeschool convention.  It was fun - the first one we'd been to, but not as informative as I had hoped.  Most of the lectures that I wanted to hear took place on Friday before we were able to get there.  Oh well - live and learn and be better prepared next time, right?

The older two kids finished school last Friday morning.  They were a little bit sad to be saying goodbye to their school and friends.  I told them that it's not as if we're leaving the planet - we'll be around.  But my ds was taking it a little harder than I expected, and it caught me a little off guard.  It made me cry, too!  I was glad we were going out of town after that, to give us something to do to take their minds off of it.  The hotel we stayed at had a really great pool, so they really enjoyed getting to swim.  And since we left the littlest twerp behind at Grammy's, we were able to indulge the older two a little bit more than usual.

Now we're getting into the first week of summer vacation, and I'm trying to finalize our plans for what curriculum to use, etc... and get everything ordered that we'll need.  Little Bear will turn 3 this week, so I'm also trying to get ready for his party.  But it's a fun party, so I don't mind.  :)

So, nothing special going on... just a ho-hum entry.... but an entry, nonetheless.

You can really tell it's summer vacation now.... all three kids are still up and watching TV at 9:30PM.  Yowzers, I hope they sleep in tomorrow!

i was there too! i kind of wondered if there were any bloggers there i might know. we should have worn a blogger shirt.

i also found the speakers a little less than exciting. i did like jeff meyers. i also found the curriculum choices to be a little lacking. i would have liked to see more. the people i was with said other years it has been better so i will probably go back next year. it's on a different weekend so maybe that will make a difference.
