Back on Track

We're finally starting to get back on track after the holidays.  Let me give a quick rundown of what our holidays were like here.  We didn't do much school after the first week of December.  I reasoned that our schoolwork consisted of getting ready for the holidays.    My husband's parents arrived on the 19th.  Then, a few days later, dh's brother, SIL, and their three kids arrived.  The week of Christmas was a blur of activity, but in a good way.  My dh also has a brother that lives locally, and he and his wife have 2 children.  So my three kids got to enjoy lots of quality time with their 5 cousins.  They all seemed to develop a closer bond this time together, which is a wonderful thing to witness.  Their ages are 14, 14, 12, 12, 10, 9, 7, and 3.  The youngest one is mine, and boy did he love having all his big cousins to dote on him!  Everyone enjoyed the time together, but it was very tiring and I think we were all ready to get back to normal.  Dh's parents just left yesterday, Jan. 4th.

We started school here on Jan.2nd.  We're doing things differently this semester.  Last semester was our first one to homeschool, and I really had no clue what I was doing for the most part.  LOL.  This time around I decided to join an online co-op, done by the Hulcy's (Jessica Hulcy is one of the co-author's of Konos.).  We are only finishing up week one, and I have been so amazed at Mrs. Jessica's talents as a teacher and leader.  I am feeling so much better about what we're doing here at home.  I do not feel as insecure as I did before, wondering if I'm doing it right, doing enough, etc..  We're doing the unit on Trust right now, and so far we're all enjoying it.  Mrs. Jessica started us out with Ships and Sailing.  Lots of fun!

So, that's a little catch-up for now... hopefully I'll get back to more regular blogging now that we're settling into a routine again.  It was a wonderful Christmas, but it's time to get back to business.

I AM SO JEALOUS!

I was supposed to start Trust this month, but we fell behind and I'm still finishing up Attentiveness. Can you take detailed notes for me on what you do for each day? I am drooling wishing I could be in the co-op. I am starting that unit next! So you are ahead of me! Wanna meet me for a trip to the Sub?
