The Finish Line is in sight!

Posted in Bevs Blurbs

We are almost done with school for the year.  Whew!  The kids are down to the last few lessons in their Switched-on-Schoolhouse stuff.  And as for our unit studies, I've pretty much given up on keeping their attention any further this semester.  Their brains are tired.  Their bodies are restless.  And they are overcome with the desire to be free, to let loose and run and play, to dig in the dirt and splash in the wading pool, and follow the many rabbit trails that have come alive with the blossoming season.  So who am I to hold them back?

May. 20, 2008 - We're feeling the same way

I was struggling with it until my dh who was a ps teacher for 7 years reminded me - IT'S MAY! No schooling ever really got done in May(and testing was over so what was the point in learning anything new that they were all going to forget over the summer?). So I am using that as my reason for getting a little lax for a few weeks.

I totally understand!!! My kids are the same way. We go year round though, which can make spring fever a challenge sometimes. But we go to a much looser model of school in the summer and we sure are ready!!!!

I think you are making a wise decision. A few weeks of free play to explore their creative energy is a good thing!

I haven't been blogging a while, but have some moments, and thought I'd stop by! It looks like things are going great for you, and I especially loved the school interviews! Not sure I will come out as well, but oh well! We start pre-school officially in the fall, although I'm eager to start before that. Are you still doing KONOS?

Warmly,
Lori
