Just a quick update here....we got a little information about what our individual jobs will be. Please keep us all in your prayers. We're VERY excited and really looking forward to this great adventure. Pray also that my missing my kids won't interfere TOO much with my service.
They have Bruce working on the house every day. laying block. I will be working on the house a few days, assisting with dental procedures a couple days, and helping in the kitchen a couple days.
We will be leaving town at 7:25am Saturday morning, and arriving in Punta Cana in the afternoon where we will spend a little time at the future site for the new church praying and vision casting. We then will drive 2 hours to LaRomana, where we will check into the hotel we will be staying at all week. Sunday we will start with breakfast, go to the site where we will be building the house, walking through the community there (the barrio), followed by lunch, and followed by day at the beach. Thankfully, no one works there on Sunday's, so we can't either....=] I'm looking forward to hunting for sea shells and sharks teeth (for Briar), walking the white sandy beaches, and enjoying the beautiful turquoise waters.
After dinner, we will go to their church service and be introduced to the congregation. Bruce and I will be searching out the two little boys that he met two years ago when he went, Jonathon and Adoni. We are looking forward to seeing them.
We will pretty much be working each day 8am-4pm (that's American hours...the dental work may go later). Tuesday night we are going to a baseball game, and Thursday night we will go out to a well known Italian restaurant...go figure!!! =] I will be sure to take alot of pictures when I can and share them with everyone. Pray also that we are able to finish the project in one week!! That'll be important for the family who will be moving in.
Hi! My name is Deborah, and I want to thank you for taking a moment out of your busy day to visit Home For Him. I hope in some small way that you find encouragement and ideas for not only your homeschooling experience, but also your walk with God. I live in Kentucky with my Honey of 17 years, our three adventureous kids, and our small zoo of two dogs, a cat, a bird and three reptiles. Together, we have a heart for serving, and a love for studying God's Word and learning about His creation. Welcome to our world!
