Adding Letter X Today!

Fun and creative ways to --

  • Actively
  • Build
  • Closer Families

My kids and I are going to think of a family activity beginning with each letter of the alphabet. These are ALL tried activities that are guaranteed to work!!! =] As you think of more ideas for letters previously posted, we invite you to come back and continue adding to the list. It's our hope to compile this list and share it with all who visit.

Be sure to "post a comment" below, and add your own!!

A is for .....affirming eachother by going around the dinner table and telling one thing that you love about the other family members, apple picking, ABC Praise

B is for .....baking homemade cookies, bike riding, building sand castles, backyard bird watching, building something together (birdhouse, birdfeeder, shelves for bedrooms..), the BMX track, go see the ballet

Go to http://www.gocampingamerica.com/ or http://www.campmor.com/, cleaning the house, candlelight dinner (the little guys love this!), caroling in our neighborhood at Christmas time, creek walking, cooking something, clap and cheer eachother on at a sports game, doing a craft, Crazy 8's (our favorite card game), collect coins

G is for .....going garage sale-ing, giving your time together to a nursing home, community clean-up project, food drive, or elderly neighbors, grill-out

H is for .....horseback riding (at our uncles down in Paducah), hiking, play high/low (everyone gets a turn at telling what their "high" was for the day - their favorite thing that happened to them - , and their "low" - their least favorite thing that happened to them), Hide-n-Go-Seek, holding hands

T is for ....TALK...every chance you get that you aren't having a "quiet time"

U is for ....being understanding of one another, walk with an umbrella in the rain (as long as it's NOT thundering and lightning! I'm talking about the warm, gentle spring and summer rains you get ever so often...our kids LOVE to do this!), promote an unfailing loyalty to one another (lately this discussion has sounded something like, "Always defend your brother/sister no matter how much they might bug you at times!"), parents keep an undivided front for our children (very important for them to see and experience)

V is for ....a visit to the beach, valuing one another with verbal affirmations (Thank you Hskubes Homeschool Haven for your ideas!), validate eachothers opinion with good listening and answering

I am still enjoying these very much. Thank you, again, for sharing these.
I noticed 'V' is next... How about Visit the beach? (I'm a little partial to that one *Ü* ) A couple of other suggestions could be Value one another and Validate your love for one another through Verbal affirmations.

Hope you had a blessed Lord's Day.
