A Heart For Home- An Introduction

Good afternoon Fellow Home Educators! I have finally decided to use this blog space to chronicle my Homeschooling journey. We are starting our 9th year of Home educating this year. We just graduated our first child this past May. That is a picture of me and my Dd (17) at a church fellowship for her and the other graduates.

I still have two others that I will be educating at home. A DD (15) in the 10th grade and a DS (9) in the 4th grade. We have used a variety of curriculum over the years and have been truly blessed with the other people that the Lord has bought into our lives on this journey.

The one thing that I have learned over the years is to trust The Lord for all of my needs. Homeschooling was not really something that I enjoyed at the beginning. (It has a way of showing you who you really are when you have to spend all of your time with your kids.) The Lord has really used it to shape me and mold me (for the better I pray). It's an ongoing process that that has its good days and its bad.

I know that this journey was in His plans from the beginning. It has been truly amazing to see Him meet my every need and that of my children. He is an AWESOME GOD THAT SHOULD EVER BE PRAISED!

The most important lesson that The Lord has taught me is to trust Him fully! Academics aside, what should a man gain he if gains the whole world and loses his soul? He must come first in all! (Please forgive me Father when I fail to remember that!)

To God be the glory, now and always!

Bless all who pass this way on their journey towards Him!

So true! The ability to homeschool is such a blessing! What a privilege to teach your kids academics from a Christ-centered viewpoint. And to witness their struggles and successes firsthand. What a privilege and responsibility!!!
