Far Above Rubies Links & Plans (Some Anyway)

http://www.geocities.com/trishnonaka/FAR_intro.htm- This is a site that I found that explains some of the units. It was constructed by a woman who used it with her daughter. It contains a lot of links that might be helpful for you or your daughters.

I think it uses the older version of FAR. (I am currently using the older edition.) It has Units 1-20 divided into 4 books. Units 1-5, Units 6-10, Units 11-15 and Units 16-20. (These each have smaller sub units to which your DD can choose from.)

I am currently using FAR for DD's Bible and History as well as some practical Art ideas. It can be confusing at times because there is so much to choose from.

I had DD mark the sub units that she would be interested in doing. (Wouldn't you know that she chose very little of what I wanted her to learn.) Well, its a start anyway.

I can honestly say that the more I look through the units, the more I like it. There is a question as what to do if your daughter is not self-motivated (likes being spoon fed.) It is said that this will help her learn to be self motivated. It teaches daughters to be dilligent among other Christ like characteristics. Practice makes perfect!

I'll post more on the plans that I have for DD tomorrow. So much to do and so little time.

Bless all who pass this way!

Thanks for the links for the FAR Units. I can't wait to have time to investigate this further. We have been doing the Beautiful Girlhood and Beyond Beautiful Girlhood Bible Study together, but would love something more. Emily
