Proverbs 31 Woman In Training

Hi

Hi Everyone,

I am finally updating again. Our schoolwork went fine this year. We are finished for the rest of the year. Hannah finished a day after me. I finished on Wednesday, and Hannah finished on Thursday. Thursday we had our piano lesson. I am preparing for grade three ,and Hannah is preparing for grade four. Hannah did really well on her music, too. Our cat, Amy, was sick awhile ago. She is fine now, though. We were up at 3:00 a.m. We were all scared that it was something really bad, but it wasn't.

Our garden hasn't been started yet, but it will be, soon. Lately, we have been getting organic fruit and veggies because it will help us all. We really wnat our garden started because we know that our fruit and veggies will be organic.

Our guinea pigs are all fat and healthy. Colourful, my guinea pig, is the fattest of all our guinea pigs.

I better go.

Faith[Hannah's little sister]

Christmas Holidays for 2007! (End of School year too!)

Hi to all, again!

Well, I am pleased (very pleased) to say that my schoolwork is now completely finished for 2007! I finished my last P.A.C.E (we use the A.C.E curriculum) and packed up my schoolwork at about morning tea time last Thursday. My sister and I now have about 6 weeks holiday before we begin 2008's schoolwork. I finished the rquired yearly amount that I was talking about in a post a while ago and it didn't kill me. (completely, anyway!) Now, the only thing I have to think about for a while is... CHRISTMAS! I do have to start thinking about what I'm going to give my family though, in the way of gifts. We do not have access to money so we always try to make something nice for the other family members. I have a couple of things in mind but I have not definitely decided on anything yet. (I'd better start seriously thinking about that one!!!) I always enjoy Christmas so much! This year is going to be slightly harder though.

I thought I'd tell those of you who were worried about my guinea-pig Chocolate-Brown that she has completely gotten over her heatsroke and does not show and evident signs of being sick or weak now. I'm very relieved to be able to say that and not something else! Each morning, I still check on her and worry that she has gotten weaker again overnight but she seems to show no signs of that!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention that now, we have started the yearly spring clean on the house, now that school has finished. Faith's and my bedroom (we share a bedroom) is a complete disaster because of the cleaning that is GOING ON! It was supposed to clean it up but unfortunately the cleaning has not yet given any evidence of actually being clean. Oh well. I'm sure we'll manage!

That's about it for now and I'll keep you updated!

Guinea-pig heat stroke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello again!

I have some rather upsetting news today. This morning, my sister got our guinea-pigs out onto the grass, as we do every morning and everything was fine. Afterwards, we went out to do a few things that needed to be done and came home. I went downstairs to check on the guniea-pigs and discovered that the heat had really bothered them while we were out. (Grace, one of our longhaired guinea pigs has suffered from heatstroke twice now.) My guinea-pig, (The shorthair) was very limp and weak and was not eating or drinking. She has very dark fur and so we think that contributed to some of the heat bother. We took her inside and got into a cool bath and force fed her the water. (We have had to do that with Grace each time as the vet recommended it.) I had to hold open her little, tiny mouth while trying to squeeze the water into her. We have a little syringe that we use specifically for this purpose but my sister accidentally broke it a while ago so we could not use that on her. We had to try to give her the big water bottle in the hopes that we could fit it into her mouth without choking her. I finally got her to eat some cold carrot and a bit of grass and she has pretty much recovered now. I monitered her this afternoon and she appears to be getting better. She is still a bit weak but it's nothing she can't recover from. It was a good thing that today was one of our days off from school so that we could make sure she was recovering well! One of the first things I do in situations like this is, PRAY! I certainly did that today and God took care of my little guinea-pig!

I just thought I'd post about this as it was of large importance!

Sunday

Hello again!

It's been such a long time since I have sat down to type an entry so I thought I'd type one now.

Today, being Sunday, we went to a new Church that has just started. Today was the first service and it was rather small. I expected it to be small becuase it was just the first service. I'm not sure if we are planning on going back or not. I spoke with a couple of girls and we had interesting conversations. I'll keep this blog updated and let you know how that goes.

Faith and I gave our three little guinea-pigs a 'bathies' before. Today was the perfect weather for it... warm and dry. The two long-haired guinea-pigs especially benefited from it. Afterwards, we put them down the back under the shade of the trees and watched them run around and eat their grass. (We had them out, free.)  They love it!!! We managed to get some lovely pictures of them and I was planning on putting one of them on my desktop this afternoon.

Our Christmas holidays are coming up soon and I'm trying to get the required yearly amount of schoolwork done in time. I always enjoy Christmas and excitedly wait for it. We put the Christmas tree up on the last week of November and decorate the house with Christmas decorations on the day we finish schoolwork!!! I can't wait! I'd love to hear what some of you do to get ready for Christmas, if you want to post a comment or two...

Well, I suppose I'd better go and see how this blog post looks on my new layout!

Cleaning up the yard!

Howdy!

Today, my two uncles came up to visit us. They live about 2 1/2 hours away from us so they had to leave early to get here on time.  So far they have been helping us clean up the big piles down the back of our land and pretty soon they are going to take cuttings from our plants and move them for us. They have made 2 trips to the dump and they are currently on their 3rd now. It is a very hot day and so it has been hard for them to get a lot done. We had a tasty lunch and morning tea and they will be probably be going home soon.

Faith and I took some more pictures although the red light to say our batteries are nearly flat has just come up so I don't know how many more we'll get.

I'd better go now,

Your Sister In Christ,

Hannah

A fun morning

Hi again!

This morning Faith and I had the opportunity to get outside and take LOT'S of pictures on our new digital camera. We took some really nice photos. I will try to post some sometime but I don't think I have the time now.  We had so much being out in God's creation together and having the opportunity to take some really nice and some just plain silly photos. We even managed to get a couple of both of us together. Faith came up with the great idea of using some of our flowers from around the yard to put into our hair. They looked pretty and blended with the photos nicely. Some photos we deliberately 'set up' and others we just took naturally. I can say, we ended up deleting a lot of them!!!  Anyway, I'll go now and find some other blogs to read.

My week

Hello again! I am finally sitting here typing another entry after such a long break in writing. So much for writing more reguarly, like I said in my last post.  I really will try to write more reguarly. One of the reasons I don't write often is because of the rule my parents have put in place. My sister and I are usually only allowed on the internet on our weekends but occasionally they will allow us to get on.  Anyway, I suppose you are all waiting to hear what I have been up to lately.

This week, after my granparents had left on Tuesday morning, my sister and I were able to squeeze in a little school time. My grandparents came up for my sister's and my birthdays on the 26th and 27th of September. My little sister's birthday is the day before mine. People can never understand when we tell them our birthdates, how my little sister's birthday is before mine.  How strange... (he,he,he) Anyway, my sister and I enjoyed our birthdays a lot and had the tastiest cake. It was a mud cake. (My entire family always enjoys mud cake but we only get them occasionally.) We got a rather large one between the two of us and the rest of the family. We still have some to eat as my Mummy decided to keep some in the freezer for the next week. Faith (my little sister's name on my blog) and I enjoyed our birthdays and the presents we received a lot and appreciated them all. I was very happy with the big book full of double-sided A1 horse posters I received, as I love horses a lot and they are my favourite animals. I'm afraid I don't have much room on my walls for them though considering their size. (As you can imagine) Anyway, as I was saying (schoolwork) Faith and I did a half day of school on that Tuesday and now as the week is coming to an end, I don't feel like we missed too much school on that day. As some of you know, we have been on holidays for weeks. Each week we have intended to start back ends up having something that prevents us from beginning again. We already missed a lot of school back at the beginning of the year because Mummy had an illness that involved surgery, 4 days in hospital and a lot of recovery time. She is doing much better now though and we (like I said above) were able to start school again. We have a yearly minimum that we have to reach and we will be working steadily and hard the rest of the year if we want to reach that goal.  Hopefully, with the Lord's help we will. As for the week in general, it has not been too bad. My sister and I just moved our bedroom (we share a bedroom) around to a more convenient layout.  We have had lot's of practise moving around bedrooms as we have done it quite a few times. Especially when we had seperate rooms and used to move ourselves around a lot!  I am currently working a cross-stitch to give to Faith for her birthday next year and that takes up a lot of time too. We also have a cat and three guinea-pig's to attend to each day and that can be quite time consuming when you have to bath the guinea-pig's every second day due to the hot weather, like we are doing now. I would never want to give any of our animals up though. In fact , I want more!!!!  Just before I leave for today and post this entry, I'll tell you about the garden. Our garden has not been completed yet as we have been really busy and we have another issue on our hands at the moment before we can do anything with the garden. This issue will largely decide what we plant in our garden.

Well, I'd better go now so I can read up on what other people have been doing.

New Post

Hi everyone! I thought I should type a post as I have not updated in a long time. We have been really busy lately and so that is my excuse.

My family and I did go on that holiday we had been planning and I had heaps of fun. Some of the activities we had planned did not go quite the way we had planned for them. For instance, we arrived at one of the places we were going to spend the day at and found out once we got there, that it was now a new business and the old one had closed down about 18 months ago. I was very dissapointed and so was my sister and the rest of my family. We did end up going someplace else instead and it was just as fun!!! During the rest of the time we were visiting family and having lot's of fun. I got to see a friend that I had not seen in a year but who I kept in contact with, through e-mail. We got back home on Monday afternoon and our guinea-pigs (who we had stocked up with food and water and left at home) seemed very glad to see us and our cat (who we had registered in a cattery) was even more happy to see us. She( meaning the cat) had not liked being left at the cattery at all and when she arrived home on Monday afternoon, she was so excited. (Well, as excited as a cat can get anyway)

The garden that we had been getting ready to plant has sort of been put on hold for the moment. We are not sure what we are doing with it and even if it is going to be in the same spot as we originally thought! I hope it works out though and soon because Daddy has to go back to work and we were trying to get this garden finished over the holidays. Mummy, Faith and I both really want this garden!!! I hope it happens.

I know this has been a rather short entry but atleast it IS and entry. Bye for now and I'll try to update more reguarly now that we are home.

Update!

Hi! It's time for an update on my blog.

Finally, after years of hoping for a garden of our own, the time has finally come to begin the preparations for our garden. Our Mum, Faith and I spent yesterday and today pulling out all the weeds from the area that we are planning to make our garden. The spot we are going to use is actually a garden with a concrete border around it and we thought instead of having to dig a whole new patch for the garden, we could just use what was already here instead. The garden is going to be quite large and unfortunately it is currently overgrown with sharp, and difficult to pull out, weeds of all sizes. We have only just managed to make a path through the garden that we can actually walk on. We have recently gotten a lot of rain and it has made the ground wet enough to pull weeds from which has helped us a lot. During our holiday, we are going to buy some mulch, some stepping stones to get through the garden, and some seeds to plant our first vegetables!

We have two more days of school before our holidays begin!!!! I can't wait for them to finally get here. I have been waiting for so long to take these holidays.

Well, I'd better go and I will try to update as our garden is coming along!

Past week

Hey!

I thought that since I had some time, I would give you a brief update of our week.

This week, was pretty good. Towards the beginning of it, the weather started out nice and warm and it was great to be outside but now... The past two days it has been raining which is good as we need the rain and are in the middle of a drought. In fact, as I type, it is raining.  We have not been able to get our guinea-pigs out onto the grass because the ground would be far too mushy for their sensitive feet and the rain is too heavy for them not to get soaked.

The time is getting closer and closer until our holiday and the time to plant our garden!!! I can't wait to be able to grow our own fresh vegetables and hopefully some strawberries too. I absolutely love to snack on strawberries!  It will be the second week of our holiday that we plan to dig the garden. We will have to try and get some seeds before then though. I am going to try to take lot's of photos during the digging and planting of our very first garden!!! I'll update a lot on those two weeks of holiday and let you all know what's happening. (Especially with the garden!)

The past week of school has gone fine. We have developed a new way to complete the school work that we need to get completed each week. I think it works fine but we are going to trial it for a while. We have a new schedule typed up and printed out from the computer that involves our new school methods so, that will help us stick to the goals hopefully. I like the new system but am not sure if it will stay like this or not. I hope it does though.

I'd better go now,

Hannah-Ruth!
