Hello!

Hello,

I'ts time for a short update on my BLOG.

Faith and I finished school for our weekend yesterday. I did a couple of test during the week and they all went pretty good. I had a Maths test which I never like at the best of times soo... Anyway, Faith and I have been spending a lot of time outside lately. The weather is so nice lately. It's warm yet it's not too warm. It has a nice breeze and if you can find some shade occasionally, it's nice. The weather has been very cold and this is the first time that it has really warmed up. The winter is not over yet though.  Our guinea-pigs have been enjoying the weather so much because, Faith and I have more time to spend with the guinea-pigs outside and we can let them out of their grass cage and then they can run around and pick nice grass themselves. We have a really nice, green patch of grass that we found today. Just before, we went outside and let the guiena-pigs eat in that spot and they absolutely loved it!  It's funny to be able to just see their heads over the top of the long grass. Because my guinea-pig is brown, she stands out nicely when she poked her little white-tipped nose above the grass. I love her so much!!!

Tomorrow is a busy day. Being the end of our weekend (we don't follow the regular weekend, we have Sunday and Monday) we get all our shopping and things done on that day. It works out pretty well, really.

Well, that really is about all I have to write,

See you all later!

News Update!

Hello Everyone!

I haven't had any time lately to update but was able to find time today. The past two days Faith and I have been doing school, playing with our animals, practising music (tambourine and piano) and chores. Our Mummy has been sewing dresses and skirts for both Faith and I to wear now and also when the time comes for our holiday in September. We are going on a holiday to visit our relatives and to have some time off from school and other things. We have been very busy recently and feel that we need a holiday. The time that we are going down on our holiday is the time that we would normally have been attending a home-school Convention. We are not going this year as we feel things are getting too competitive and losing the Christian values for which we originally starting going.  Instead we are going to spend that time with family and friends and use it as a time to relax.  We have to book our cat into a cattery for the time we are down there and stock our guinea-pigs up on lot's of food to keep them happy until we get back. The first week is when we do all our visiting and the second week is when we will plant our new vegetable garden and do things at home.

Bye for now,

Hannah-Ruth

Afternoon Update

Hello!

I thought that I would hop on and post an update.

Today, my sister and I did some school and it was pretty good. I finished my work a bit later than usual but atleast I was able to get it finished in time to do some other things. Tomorrow is the beginning of my sister's and my weekend so I was excited to get school finished.

Just before, I went down to the grassy area where we keep our little 'herd' of guinea-pigs to get them in. The weather suddenly turned terribly cold, and dark today. We have had our fire going all day to try to keep the house warm. It helped a lot to be able to do our school in the room that the wood heater is in.  Anyway, as I was saying, we had to keep a close eye on the guinea-pigs today because we were afraid we would go down to check on them and find they had little bits of ice on their noses.  They don't cope very well in the colder weather. During the summer time, we keep the guinea-pigs in our garage but during the winter we have to bring them into the house at night. (We keep them on grass during the day, and in the house at night.) So, our guiea-pigs are really grass fed piggies, rather than pet-shop pigs that are fed pellets but nothing else. We didn't want to raise pellet-fed piggies, but rather grass-fed guinea-pigs which are better. (The grass is better for the health anyway.) We do give them a fresh bowl of pellets for them to nibble on at night though to tie them over until the next morning when they are free to run around again. I love going outside in nice weather and being able to sit with them and hug them and watch them enjoying themselves.  Well, I didn't really have much to say in the beginning but thought I'd hop on anyway, so that's about it for now.

3rd Evening Update

Hi! Hannah has already told you more about the garden. So I am going to talk about other things.

Amy, our cat is really cute. She loves to jump up ont the table and eat our food. We sometimes feed her our food.

We have a few chores to do in the morning. I feed the cat and clean out her tray, and Hannah puts he guinea-pigs out. It gets annoying after awhile, but we change every month. And at night time we do the washing and drying. I am currently doing the drying and Hannah is doing the washing, but next month I do the washing and she does the drying.

I have to go now!

2'nd Evening Update

Hello Everyone!

I thought that I would post a message that was sort of in response to Faith's post above.

The family, in about 5 weeks, will hopefully get the time to plant a vegetable garden. We have all been waiting so long to be able to grow some of our own food. Years ago, my sister and I were given our own strawberry runners to attempt to grow some more strawberries but unfortunately we were not dedicated enough to caring for them and, as you can imagine, they died.  Then, a few years later, we were given flowers to plant, but, again we were not careful with them and they died. Hopefully, this garden will produce well (and not die) but with our family's help, hopefully we will not kill the food this time. We were also thinking that our three little guinea-pigs would love to be let loose in the garden to run around and munch. (NOT)  We definitely would not be letting them do that, it would ruin OUR food.

Today was really a good day. Our mother has been quite ill throughout the month so we have had to do a few more chores than usual as she can't do certain things because of what she has. We split up the chores between the two of us (Faith, and I) and managed to get the things done with the help of our mother. We will be doing school again tomorrow though. We had only started back doing school a few weeks ago as the first few weeks were spent helping Mummy.

As Faith said in the last update, our guinea-pigs had a wonderful time today racing around (and trying to hide under their favourite blanket) munching and sleeping continuously as they went. It's great fun to watch them enjoying themselves and my sister and I get to spend the time talking and rinsing the guinea-pig's blankets so they are fresh for them.

Our cat, Amy also had a great time, helping us make our beds (she jumps up on the bed and tries to bite your hands as you are pulling blankets and sheets and things onto the bed) It's quite fun really trying to get through the already difficult task of making our beds and then having her 'help' on top of that.  She is such a funny cat to have around us but we love her heaps.

That's about it for today so I'd better go now,

I hope to receive some comments as I enjoy reading them and hearing what you all have to say!!!

Evening Update

Hi! My name is Faith(Hannah-Ruth's younger sister). She has allowed me to post an update on her blog.

Today we didn't do schoolwork because we were cleaning the house because mummy has been ill, and we had a few more chores to do.

Our animals are really good too. We have one cat and three guinea pigs. Our cat's name is Amy and the guinea pig's names are Colourful, Chocalate Brown, Grace. They are all really cute.

We were also thinking of starting a garden soon. We always wanted to start our own garden and now we get to. We are all getting excited waiting until we can start our garden.

Hi!

Hello again!

I had some time and I thought I'd write an update and post it now.

Firstly, today was a pretty good day. Instead of doing school, we had a 'clean the house' day. My younger sister and I both had specified chores to do as well as a room in the house that required ALL of us to help clean it up. The cleaning didn't take all that long so when we were finished, we got our three guiena-pigs out of their grass cage and let them run free. The love being able to run around and pick their own spots of grass to munch. It's also great being able to watch them!!!  Our family also has a sweet little 9 month old domestic short-hair cat who loves it when we give her attention. I love all my animals and enjoy having them around me while I'm doing school too.
