Being Frugal

I think I'm frugal.  I think I pinch pennies pretty tightly (I am 100% Dutch, after all), yet I think I have a lot to learn yet.  Since my hubby commutes 45 minutes each way to work daily and we realized right now with gas at $4 a gallon, he is spending about $350 a month on gas (gasp!), I have to find ways to stretch our money even farther.

I love Aldi, I shop for the rest at Meijer, and  we love thrift stores.  Our grocery bill (for a family of 6) is around $100-125 a week (gasp again, right!?).   I have been enjoying browsing "frugal mom" kind of blogs to get coupon ideas, menu ideas, etc. What more can I do?

What are your favorite frugal tips/sites/ideas/plans/etc???  Please link me up to good ideas and people!  Thanks everyone!!

Till next time, Julie

Yeah, I agree. I think many of us are cinching up the rope trying to do things a little more frugal than we were previously. We've hung our clothes out to dry for many years but I do get tired of it. These days I'm doing it on a consistent basis now. I've also been using up every single bit of leftovers - putting them into other dishes or freezing them for a small lunch, etc. I've got some frugal sites on my sidebar you'd probably be interested in, but I'll bet you've already been to them.

    Blessings to you ~

I am new to your blog, I came here from Angela's blog. I also try to be more frugal. One of the biggest things I do is look through the circulars and only buy things when they are on sale. There is a blog called Money Saving Mom and she has great tips and ideas. I will get that link for you if you haven't heard of it.
I have planted a garden this year. I will freeze any extras that I have at the end of the season. I also hang my clothes out to dry and save electricity that way.
I hope these help. I love the field trip you took with your daughter. What a wonderful idea!!! It looks like alot of fun.
    Blessings,
    Ruth
