Start Your Own Business
Good Morning America ran a story this morning about working from home.
Start a Business for $200 . If You Can't Find Work From Home, It Might Be Time to Start Your Own Business
I think Tory Johnson is right on target when she says,
Be realistic, and think seriously about your current routine to figure out how much time you can devote to this endeavor. Perhaps you have five hours a day while your kids are in school, or maybe you only have nights when your baby is sleeping. Will you focus on finding the time to give this priority? If you're going to devote too little time or you're going to find excuses why you're too busy, this won't work.
Face it ladies, homeschooling doesn't go away when we add in extra commitments like earning money. I've expanded my accounting business as my kids have grown older, but it was pretty small and limited when they were young and needed me more.
On the show she mentioned gathering 10 friends and have them each bring a friend to give you honest feedback on your idea or service. Ask them,"Would you use my product or service?" That's an excellent idea! Thank them for their opinions by serving dinner. The cost of dinner will be exceeded by the valuable advice you are given. And what a great way to make connections with your potential customers!
The article has good advice and related articles. Lots to get you thinking. I'm going to add some of her ideas to my presentation Wanna be a WAHM?(Work at Home Mom) at the Cincinnati Homeschool Convention.
