Wow!  Some of those churches are awfully large!  Do any of you belong to one?  Have you visited any of these super-sized churches?  Share your experience with us.

The closest I've come to these churches is that I know members of  #4 Saddleback (a homeschool group there) and #6 Southeast Christian in Louisville (an American Heritage Girls troop there).  I think my own church Montgomery Community Church is pretty large at about 2,000 members.

Whoa, that really is a lot of people!

I thought I went to a decent sized church and we have about 300 members! I suppose we're smaller than the megachurches but not the smallest around.

My Church Has 18!
We home church. :-) But we attended Southeast Christian (#6) for about 6 months. The upside is that the speaking and music is VERY good - like going to a show that you would normally have to buy tickets to see. The downside is that we sat in the same section every week, and after 6 months still did not recognize anyone! Now we like the intimacy of home church.

Calvary Chapel Ft Lauderdale
I attend Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale (nine years now)! Its getting bigger and bigger. Pastor Bob is a great leader! Unfortunately, there are some really scary extremists in the church though. Instead of just practicing Christ love and grace, some members and new believers are so literal and tell everyone that they are going to hell that Its giving the church a cult like reputation. I really resent that because its not what Pastor Bob preaches about. I myself prefer other approaches to win people over to Christ. I am considering another church smaller in size. More personal. I do love the messages and pastors on staff they are Wonderful!

Cult like
Having a few extremists can really derail an entire congregation. How often have I judged a church because of the views of *one* member? Probably a lot! You remind me to not judge a book by its cover. In my SS school class we recently discussed what a church should do to remove members. It's a very difficult situation!
There was a recent story in the Wall Street Journal about a 70 yo woman arrested while in worship because the pastor did not want to allow her to come into the church! Seems she was trying to hold this pastor to the church's charter wrt forming a board of deacons. I guess she became too much of a "pain in the back pew!'
