Progress on my book: Homeschool Co-ops
(view similar articles on Homeschooling)
I'm getting closer to seeing my first book (Homeschool Co-ops: How to Start Them, Run Them and Not Burn Out) in print! My graphic designer friend sent me a design of the front and back cover! OOOOoooohhh! What is it about seeing a cover design that actually seems like this is going to happen?!
But I have a lot of work left to do. Here's my to do list:
1. Get edits back from Katy (my fellow homeschool co-op member and editor).
2. Pay Katy
3. Pay Christy my layout editor (another homeschool co-op friend)
4. Get my 16yo dd to edit last 3 chapters. She's called the "grammar police" around here
5. Call POD (print on demand publisher) with questions
6. Get quotes for back of book and reviews for front matter
7. Send quotes to graphic designer
8. Get permission to quote people
9. Work on footnotes and quotes
10. Work on promotion plan, press release, etc...
11. Add front matter to Master document
12. Add reviews to front matter
13. Update website. Check with neighbor/website designer on his progress
14. Start a new website for book
All during the Christmas season! Writing the book itself now seems like the easy part! But I'm learning a lot!
