T-E-A-M Continued
(view similar articles on Non Profit Organizations)
In my previous blog, I discussed teamwork... T was for Trust and E was for Empathy. Here's A and M: Accommodate: We’re all different. Accommodate means “to make room for”. II Tim 2:22b commands to “Always do the right thing. Be faithful, loving, and easy to get along with.”
How can we be easy to get along with? In a homeschool group we must try
to accommodate other’s ideas. My homeschooling friend, Shelly,
remarks that homeschoolers are all so independent and opinionated, it’s
a miracle we get along at all! I’d like to believe that we’re
following the advice in Proverbs: Intelligent people are always open to new ideas. In fact, they look for them (Prov 18:15 New Living Translation) Mission:
Stay focused on your mission. It is very important to the success
of the team. Does your organization have a mission
statement? Read it aloud before meetings and gatherings. If
your group doesn’t have a mission statement borrow this one: “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” I Peter 4:10. A mission centered on ministry coupled with trust, empathy and accommodation will build a wonderful TEAM. So which part of being a TEAM is easiest for you? Which is hardest? (For me: Mission is easy, Empathy is hard) Carol
