AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Also at Debate

(This is also Posted on my 2 other blogs, Since I'm that lazy, so some of this may not make sense......)

Phew uh AAAAAAUAUUUggggggghhhhhhhhh! YIKES .ummm.......yeah. I know this is Kind of Random, but I'm feeling a little like Mrs. Weimeyer (our club leader/teacher/mascot...), and I needed to scream. The long and short of it is...I Qualified......

Yeah, it is about as random a joke my mom could make, as I didn't realize it until after a minute she told me. Sorry If I'm not coherent...I can't even think straight, let alone blog. basically she thought she'd play a joke at dinner and we started thinking of movi lines from the alamo (2004). I have no idea why. It's incredably unlike her. We named some lines, when she said "I liked some of those Davy crockett lines." What????? He has some of the worst! We listed some of his, when she prodded further, asking "What was that line, 'you can go to hell...'?" If you'd heard it, it'd be near impossible not to know. We had joked about it in relation to nats, since they are in Texas. I recited "you can all go to hell, I'm going to texas" which he had actually said in tennesee, not AT the Alamo. My mom said, "wait, wasn't it something else, say it again..." My dad prodded for my repeat of the line, also...Then just the first part. My mom added "and we are..you qualified." There was a moment of stunned silence. Jonah stopped eating.....Madiline stopped struggling with her Enchilada. They all looked at Mom. Except for Jonah, who then took another bite of guacamole. After much questioning, I found out that it was no joke, someone unfortunately couldn't come, and I was next in line. I was greatly dissapointed earlier, to not be able to see those of you who qualified at nats. It'd be great if all Touche could go, but then we'd need more slots. Though If I could chose I'd say many more did much better than me, I just happened to be in the right catagory. I had put NCFCA out of my mind, but it hadn't had enough of me. I am indeed, though last to qualify, going to Texas.

Debate

Also at Debate

Ok, first off, I don’t think I’ve posted on this before, but this year I joined a speech and debate club in the NCFCA. Don’t ask me what that stands for, It’s National Homeschool Christian Forensics something or other, I’m not awake enough now to remember it. But it doesn’t have an H, though it is homeschooling.... Oh well.

So to my point- It has been really neat! And it’s taken alot more time than I thought...So here I’ll elaborate:

No doubt some of you reading are in NCFCA, but for those who aren’t, I’ll explain. It is split into two parts, Speech and Debate. There are several times of speeches-
Original Oratory- Basically about anything.
Persuasive- well, persuasive...
Expository- Teaching about anything with boards and props.
Extemporaneous- Limited Preparation speech on current events
Humorous Interpretation- A piece from a book that is acted out, yet in speech form...Oh,
                                          And it’s funny, too.
Duo interp.- Interp, with two people
Dramatic interp- You get it by now...
Open interp- Open, anything...
Thematic- quotes and pieces of anything strung together with a theme

OK, so THAT was boring, right? OK, well now I’m going to bore you more with Debate- There are two types- Team policy, which is a team of two using evidence to support the yearly resolution by giving a plan. For example, this year’s resolution is NATO should be significantly reformed or abolished. So everyone has their plan on how to implement that and the Affirmative team and Negative give a lot of speeches on why the plan should(n’t) be implemented. OK, still boring, right? Well, never fear, there is only one more-Lincoln Douglas style debate. That is one on one, with logic more than evidence. It’s a values debate, so the resolution is: Democracy is overvalued By the US government.

So now that I’ve sufficiently bored you, You know about one of the favorite aspects of my life, which I hope to post on more( Well if I made a category for it....)
