Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.

Show & Tell Friday

Canadagirl is having a Show & Tell Friday and Linda suggested that I shouldl participate with this post. Good idea Linda  thanks.

So I am showing and telling about our globes.

We like to play some games with our inflatable globes. These are two of my favorite. This one I like because it's simple and uncluttered. Perfect for learning the continents & oceans. I got this one last year from Calvert. It came with our first grade program and I haven't been able to find another one, so I don't let the kiddos play with it, other than for our lessons.

This one I got from My Father's World. It came with Exploring Countries & Cultures. I like it because it shows the boundaries and names of cities, seas etc. It's more detailed. I plan to get a few more.

The next one is like a pillow. I bought it a few years ago. I would like to replace it because it has a few bite holes where the dog got to it but it was one of my more expensive buys.

Our last one for the day is our "real" globe. I got this one about four years ago from Scholastics. It lights up to show the boundaries.

This is our most recent globe that we got (8-22-07) from Grandma "T". It's a lamp. You turn it on and it has a dim light and it rotates. Thank You Grandma =)

I have been tagged by mommyof3girles but will write my 8 facts about me when I get back from Ca. My Sweets grandma went to be with the Lord and Lupe & I are flying out to Ca. tomorrow. My sister will stay here with the kiddos (Thank you Cynce & Don). Please keep us in prayer for a safe flight. We will be back Tuesday evening.

In Him,

Linda<><

I'll be praying for your safe travel and the home front while you are gone.

I loved looking at all of your globes. You should participate in Candagirl's Friday Show n' Tell. This would make an excellent entry.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,
Linda

Wow, cool globes. We have a few ourselves. Also postars for the wall. Can't wait to use them all this year.

Who would have thought you could have so many different kinds of globes? What kind of games do you play with the different globes? I used a beachball glove in Children's church on occasion to get the kids to tell me their names (toss it to them, etc.)

I have had a few globes over the years and finally gave up since countries and boundaries change at a whim. Example, My Grandparents moved here from Austria-Hungary, I was taught we came from Yugoslavia as Bavarians, today we would be from Macedonia. Even my son was born in West Germany which also no longer exists.

Seven contenients is enough for me (until they change them like the NINE planets!)

Because of Jesus, Bobbie

I'm Linda, a child of God, wife to my best friend Lupe and mom to Joshua 98, Annette 99, Caleb 00, Brent 01, Ethan 03 & Lance 04. We have been homeschooling since 2002. We homeschool because we believe that this is what God wants us to do right now. I love being with my children, most of the time=) I have to admit that there are days when I ask God "Why am I doing this?" and he gently reminds me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and deep down inside my heart I know why I am homeschooling ;)
