Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.

Monday

Another week! We have been busy, busy, busy. We are on week 16 of Exploring Countries & Cultures. I am hoping to combine a few weeks so we can start Creation to the Greeks in Sept. I purchased it and it should be here on the 1st of April. I want everything early because I might not have the money later

We are finally all well. Yahoo! No sickies anymore. We are getting back into our regular routine. Brent is still going to school across the street. His teacher is going to tutor him twice a week. She said that he is not behind but wants to make sure he will be ready for 1st grade. I think it's great. It gives us the option to either continue having him go to public school and he will be right on target if he does. Or we can keep him home and jump right into My Father's World 1.

So here are some plans for next year for my younger students.

Caleb will use Christian Liberty Press 1st grade and listen in on Creation to the Greeks when possible.

Brent will use My Father's World 1st Grade and listen in during read aloud time with Ethan & Lance

Ethan will continue with My Father's World K and I want to add in some extra fun stuff so we will also use from WinterPromise 'I'm Ready to Learn' it's suppose to have games to learn math & phonics and crafts. It includes science and has themes like Farm, Pond etc. I also purchased from WP Journey's of Imagination to add a scheduled read aloud time.

Lance will use the two programs from WinterPromise that I mentioned above along with My Father's World PreK.  MFW-PreK  has no workbooks or reading. They do puzzles, lacing and tracing. So I think between the two curriculum's it will be a fun preschool year.

It hit me like a speeding train that my two little ones won't be little forever and they are my last two. I wanted to do something fun with them. I'm always concentrating on my older ones academics and leave the little ones to fend for themselves. So this year I plan to do some fun stuff. I am working on getting Josh & Annette a little more independent so I will have more time for my Pre-k students this year.

And then there are the two middle students that I want to make sure I don't overload them like I did my two older students. So it will be an interesting year.

For my two middle students (Caleb & Brent) I wanted to get WinterPromise's new program called Hideaways in History so they will have their own programs and this program is geared to 1st graders and look great, but...........I decided not to. Besided Christian Liberty Press has a history read aloud. I didn't want to overload with us using

  1. My Father's World Creation to the Greeks
  2. My Father's World K
  3. My Father's World 1st Grade
  4. Winterpromise Journey of Imagination
  5. Winterpromise I'm Ready to Learn

As you can see, schooling a 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, K & Pre-k, it will make for an interesting year

In Him,

Linda<><

I am glad to hear from you again!!! I have been wondering how you are!! Glad to hear all is well :-)

I am just getting ready to order Adventures in my fathers world~ I am excited about it. You all used this right?? Do you have any tips or suggestions or anything that you added to it that you would recommend??? I read the Heart of Wisdom book and LOVED it. I plan to start following that when we get to 4th grade but for now I though MFW would be good. I hope to hear from you more..you are always such an inspiration to me.

I'm Linda, a child of God, wife to my best friend Lupe and mom to Joshua 98, Annette 99, Caleb 00, Brent 01, Ethan 03 & Lance 04. We have been homeschooling since 2002. We homeschool because we believe that this is what God wants us to do right now. I love being with my children, most of the time=) I have to admit that there are days when I ask God "Why am I doing this?" and he gently reminds me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and deep down inside my heart I know why I am homeschooling ;)
