Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.

Tuesday

I joined the Homeschool Lounge a few days ago. I can't believe I did because I barely have enough time to blog. I was curious to see what it's all about. If you visit me there my 'Nook' is pretty plain. I don't know much about adding things and making it look nice. My sister Cynthia is the one who designed this blog. She has some real talent.

Yesterday, we schooled outside. I took pictures but am having problems with my computer. My Sweets moved our desk and I think he didn't hook something back up, so he is going to look into. He has to finish our taxes first though .

Back to schooling outside......the kids and I moved our school table and chairs outside yesterday. They ate lunch and snacks outside too. In between subjects they rode their bikes up and down the street. They were playing some imaginary thing. I kept hearing them talk about their orchards, the woods and things like that. The blanket was their house. If you could see our neighborhood you would know that we really have to use our imaginations because the only trees we have are the ones planted in the front yard, our grass is half gone & there are rows of houses, but we have made our neighborhood many things.

One time I was Gladys Aylward and and they were the children (I was only short about 94 kids ) we walked all over our neighborhood pretending we were trying to flee the war in China. As long as you have an imagination you can go to many places. We dream of having a nice big yard with lots of trees, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.

Caleb has a loose tooth, Lance still loves to wear shoes all the time, Ethan continues to be a messy eater but can make some good instant ice tea.  Just thought I would throw in some little info on my kids and how they are doing for their Auntie MaryEllen in California. They miss her lots and can't wait to see her.

I need to get the kitchen cleaned up, correct some paper, get things ready for school and read my Bible still so I must go. I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit my blogging friends lately. We are pretty busy during the day and in the evenings my Sweets is paying bills, working on taxes, looking at rental properties or researching things so my time on the computer is limited.

I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know how you all are doing.

In Him,

Linda<><

It is a beautiful gift to have children that have such great imaginations! They will always be content, no matter what the situation.

I love your school picture slide show on the sidebar.
Look forward to visiting you at the Lounge!

I too joined the homeschool lounge. I can completely relate to you in the sense that I have no idea when I'll find the time to be over there * but I was so curious about it so I joined. I've peeked around a little - seems like a nice place to visit. It takes a lot to be here :-) What a blessing your family didn't suffer any damage from the tornado! Praise! I can't wait to school outside * our weather is just starting to get nice and tonight we are having our first meal out on the picnic table!!! Have a wonderful week * EMichelle

I'm Linda, a child of God, wife to my best friend Lupe and mom to Joshua 98, Annette 99, Caleb 00, Brent 01, Ethan 03 & Lance 04. We have been homeschooling since 2002. We homeschool because we believe that this is what God wants us to do right now. I love being with my children, most of the time=) I have to admit that there are days when I ask God "Why am I doing this?" and he gently reminds me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and deep down inside my heart I know why I am homeschooling ;)
