How We Use Singapore
Hope this doesn't seem to complicated you, but you know me, I have to make everything concerning our curriculum complicated oh why cant I just use it as it was intended
This year Annette will use Singapore 2A & 2B along with Singapore's Challenging Word Problems & Intensive Practice Book 2B only.
- Primary Math 4 days a week, 3 weeks out of the month. 2A has 62 Exercises and 7 Review lessons. 2B has 67 Exercises & 4 Review Lessons for a total of 140 lessons. If we do 12 lessons a month we should complete 108 lessons, leaving 32 lessons uncompleted. 22 lessons are multiplication with 2's & 3's so we can omit those lessons, since Annette knows them already. In 2B there are 4 lessons on time that we can skip to, so that is 26. There are 40 lessons on money so I'm sure there 5 lessons we can double up on or skip.
- Challenging Word Problems on Friday. She will finish half of the book. We might skip around and do the sections that she need most practice.
- Intensive Practice 1 week out of the month 5 days that week. In 35 weeks she will finish up to page 75 and through the Summer she can finish up the remaining 11 weeks or close to it.
Please don't think that it's all about the lessons we complete this year. If we need to slow down we will and there is always something unexpected that comes up, so we will readjust where needed but we do need a goal so the purpose of this post . As I was looking through the math books and if all goes well this Summer. She should know most of her multiplication facts and that is where we will most likely skip some exercises. We will continue to use Math-It through out the year so we don't forget.
Once I get all the figures from Caleb's math I'll add them to. He is also using Singapore.
In Him,
Linda<><

| I'm Linda, a child of God, wife to my best
friend Lupe and mom to Joshua 98, Annette 99, Caleb 00, Brent
01, Ethan 03 & Lance 04. We have been homeschooling since
2002. We homeschool because we believe that this is what God
wants us to do right now. I love being with my children, most
of the time=) I have to admit that there are days when I ask
God "Why am I doing this?" and he gently reminds me that I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me and deep down
inside my heart I know why I am homeschooling ;)
