As you all know Joshua has a hard time in spelling. I am currently using The Phonics Road to Spelling and Reading with Caleb & Brent. I really like how this program teaches spelling, so I got to thinking. I wonder if I can use this with Josh. In the fall both Annette & Joshua will use The Bridge to the Latin Road which is an intro to Latin. I was wondering if I use The Phonics Road along with The Bridge would it be overkill for Joshua who desperately needs something like this.

I decided to call Barbara Beers, the author of The Phonics & Latin Road  programs. I told her my situation with Joshua. She suggested that I use The Phonics Road level 1 at a much faster pace. Maybe finishing it in 10 weeks. She also said that he can use his own notebook. I don't have to purchase another binder for him.

Then when he completes level 1 have him move onto level 2 also at a faster pace. Again he can use his own notebook. With him completing these two levels over the summer than he can start The Bridge in late fall. I'm really excited for Josh. I pray that this will help him with spelling. From reading all that I can about this program it seems so thorough not only in Phonics but Spelling. I'm so thankful for my sister who gave me this program to try.
