Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.

Annette

My Annette is just so cute! Yesterday she and the boys were helping Lupe, dig a narrow ditch, so all the water on our property will flow to the street. Well, she comes in and ask me where dad Dewalt flashlight is.

When we were in South Dakota she bought a raccoon skin cap. She so funny. She wears it all the time. Even to AWANA and the funny thing is, it's no big deal to her. Most kids her age would not be caught dead wearing a 'coon' skin cap. Not my Annette, she is who she is. I love it that she wears her hat and doesn't care what others think about it. She actually gets lots of compliments and questions.

She loves going with her dad to the apartments on Saturday. She learns a lot about repairing things.

My dad came over so the children didn't get too much school in today. We did the unschooling thing today I found Joshua, reading a book about the Civil War. He had a map out and was putting paper different color marking the two sides.

Ethan was putting his toy boats in the water outside to see which way his boat would float. Of course it floated toward the house. That's why we are a bit flooded here

Annette was mapping out Lewis & Clark's expedition on a map. All the children are listening to a Jonathan Park cd. So although we didn't do 'school' they did get some learning in on their own. It's fun to see then explore on their own.

After quiet time is over I am going to have them all do some math. Annette, did do her Social Studies today. She was working on that when grandpa came.

It sounds like the children are having so much fun learning. I love the story of the coon hat. My son loves his, too.

I'm Linda, a child of God, wife to my best friend Lupe and mom to Joshua 98, Annette 99, Caleb 00, Brent 01, Ethan 03 & Lance 04. We have been homeschooling since 2002.

We homeschool because we believe that this is what God Wants us to do right now. I love being with my children, most of the time=) I have to admit that there are days when I ask God "Why am I doing this?" and he gently reminds me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and deep down inside my heart I know why I am homeschooling ;)
