- Vocabulary Cartoons for Kids
These books revolutionized learning vocabulary at my house! No longer do my children use vocabulary workbooks—instead they read comics and learn new words! Each page features a new word, a memory link word (sound alike), a comic that illustrates the meaning of the word, and then sentences using the word correctly. At the end of each unit, a review quiz helps assess how well it stuck. It is a proven fact that students with mnemonics (memory clues) learn words three times more quickly and remember them far longer. I've been delighted to hear my children using their vocabulary words in conversations—our goal, right?! Words are chosen from the SAT tests in the 12 yr. to adult level books. I know you'll enjoy this really fun method of learning and remembering new words!
