My husband has thrown a huge challenge my way.
The challenge, in the form of a statement, is "people can always get something done,or make time for something, if they really want to do it." I've heard him "spout" this for years. Usually at me when I'm wanting to do something new and have no time!
So, I'm wondering if this is really true. I'm a strong believer in God's supernatural provision of time--you know, you think there is no way you'll get something done, then you get done early. But, I've never really applied it like I believe it. Sort of like the Israelites, seeing the hand of God daily, yet still doubting.
Last night, when he said this to me again--this time I was saying I have no time to go to the YMCA--I got to thinking and this is very dangerous! LOL
I know I have a couple of things right now that I really want to be spending time on, and I'm not! I can't blame them on TV anymore, because we got rid of that a year ago. So, then I look at what I am spending time doing. Yes, you know you're thinking the blog! Right? That's definately one. Also, I'm not very efficient when it comes to planning errands. I've also noticed that my "down" time is choppy. I have just enough to sit for a minute (or two or three) but not enough to start something. At least that's what I've told myself.
I'm sure there's more. But, I'm really asking myself, if the time thing is true? Can I decide to do these things that I've mostly been putting off (exercising, scrapbooking) and have time to breathe? I'm guessing the husband is displaying some wisdom and I need to get off my duff! I'm truly not a procrastinator, but I don't enjoy starting new things (of the self-help variety, in particular).
The good news is that the days are getting longer, the kids are getting more self-sufficient, the husband is home (he travels a lot) and we get to go on vacation in a month! See! There is always time for vacation!!

I have been looking more at the way I spend my time. I find, like you, my free time is very choppy. I'll find myself standing at the kitchen counter flipping through a magazine and calling it a "break." But if I planned that time, I could sit down and read something real, with a cup of tea, and it'd be much more satisfying! It's a work in progress, though!
