Spring Caffeine

To answer the question of why clean in Spring, I could go into the historical references.  That would explain it.  But, the truth of the matter is, that after vile and detestable cold, dreary, grey  (and did I say "cold"?) winter, the smallest amount of sunshine injects bounding amounts of energy into our bodies!  Or is it our minds?!

Finally, after weeks and weeks of desperate attempts to hibernate away the hideous aroma of dead flowers, leafless trees, road sand and salt, we get to smell the freshness of spring!  Mowing grass (hear the roar of the mowers?), grilling food (yum!) and every freshly renewed growing thing there is are calling us to wake up!

So, that is why I could not lift a finger to spring clean the last two weeks.  No sunshine (and lots of tornados!).  I kept thinking about it; even made a list, but I kept asking myself, why not do it in the dead of winter?  Why wait till it's nice outside?  At least for the inside part!

Then it hit me!  Caffeine!  Spring is caffeine!  That's the answer.  So, have you had your dose of spring caffeine today?!

Here's a partial list upon which I require "dosing" up:

Windows--in and out

Touch up caulk and paint

Fridge & freezer

Garage (ugg!)

Guest closet (closet? what closet?)

Storage closet

De-rust and paint metal patio furniture

At this point, I have enough of a "dose" to hold the Windex while I rock in the rocking chair.  But, things are looking up!  The forecast looks good till the next round of thunderstorms (ie: tornados) on Wed or Thurs!  I shall overcome!

So, anybody need 100 old picture frames?  20 old purses?  A truckload of sand that was under our pool that the neighborhood made us get rid of--all but the sand which is smack in the middle of my back yard where grass should be and isn't?  You just let me know! :)

I cleaned the fridge today (very scary) and that was as far as the caffeine went. Now I'm veggin' on the computer and the couch is looking inviting. (Hey, it's naptime, don't I count too?)

I agree. Spring is caffeine! And not only does the sunshine streaming in the windows give me a burst of energy, but it also magnifies the dust floating in the air LOL....

Thanks for stopping by and comment on my blog. Don't be afraid of ps kids. Your kiddos are little. When mine were that age, we did only hs friends. Now that they are making friends at church, and they are older, they pick their own friends. Can you imagine LOL....

I've done little spring cleaning...I cannot even go to Amy's website (DandelionSeeds) LOl.....

Spring as caffeine - sounds good! It is getting springy here, a bit, in Oregon. But we're not in a cleaning mood yet...

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Keep reading! :-)

I love spring cleaning! I find great satisfaction in a neat closet and a defrosted freezer. And having a fresh breeze blowing through the window while I'm cleaning is definitely an energy booster.

Thanks for the encouraging comment you left on my blog yesterday. It was very helpful. :-)

About Me

In the beginning there was a tree.
The Tree of Life.
When sin entered the world,
we no longer had access to that tree.
We waited for another tree.
The Cross.
Jesus, as the perfect sacrifice for our sins once again gives us access to the
Tree of Life.
But we have to wait.
Wait for Heaven.
Until then, we are...
Living Life Between The Trees.
